@chino221 thats true man everyone at my school needs to have expensive shoes and clothing, i always wear gucci and louis but now everyone wears it. its not that exclusive anymore :(
Its funny and goes on to show true lyricism and the ability to change styles on a whem because just a couple tracksup on the same cd was ETHER possible the dopest hip hop come back beef track to date, this and many more reasons is the reason why Nas is my favorite rapper.
this is one of my fav nas songs of all time. it just reminds me of bein a kid. i have flashbacks of goin to the corner store in the hood and just playin outside.
@aphillyx3 Wasn't this album 2002? Either way I remember I was about 11 when this came out. I used to get all the lyrics wrong and think nothing of it lol.
@russdascrub1 its not about being immature hes telling a story about people he knew dat had shitty lives. U acting like some old grown folks yall dont hear me.
@gottago i know dat dats wat i meant. the people had shitty lives cause they are stuck in the ghetoo mentality that binds them to the cycle of living in the ghetto. The influence the ghetto aareas have on the youth. I know wat hes saying dawg.
@cripbuddz I understand now,,thats threw music the very lifestyles thats we glorify are footprints to the road of destruction,,translation basicly trying to live like these guys,,well beyong your means,,,they have mislead the youth,,,lets face it some people are just sheap
@6thirtytwo2ff ,basically we as a people have become SHEEPLE...everyone all of a sudden neeeds to have louie gucci prada because thats what rap said so.
nas is one of the greatest emcees him and rakim are most certainly the illest rakim is number because of the fact that he was the first, but nas is definitely the raw deal
The only other artist in the history of american music that can come close to matching Nas's storytelling genius is Johnny Cash. Noone else even comes CLOSE, songs like this one and I Gave you Power, Fetus and countless others stands as a testament to the fact that Nas is not a hip hop artist anymore he's one of the BEST musicians ever, period. He transcends genre's in the same way Ray Charles and Nina Simone did. Big up to Nasir.. ONE
@AD I hear you but notice I said "STORYTELLING GENIUS" Rakim KRS and Chuck D are not prolific storytellers, KRS is my favorite emcee of alltime but outside of Love's gonna getcha he's never excelled in that part of hip hop
Nas is THE GREATEST. Though was/is greatly influenced from one of the illest in Rakim, it's as simple as this... sometimes the successor surpasses his instructor/teacher. Nas is one of the few MCs keepin Hip-Hop from bein buried.
Love NAS

Nas is equal to Slick Rick storytelling wise, except Nas has a history of rapping over mediocre beats. This beat is good though.
strafer 2 years ago
@strafer
yup i was thinking the same thing!! only nas stories are more serious and slick ricks stories are also funny in some tracks
its not that the slicks stories are so funny but he brings it that way sometimes
