WHY have such a shack, with who knows how much money invested in the equip, and not take the extra step to get your Amateur license, so you can finally respond to everything your listening to??

Klopt! Honderden ambassades, persbureaus, Interpoldiensten, amateurs en nog veel meer op ontvangen. Veel met QSL bevestigd, prachte collectie brieven en kaarten aan overgehouden. Die Wavecom W4010 was een mooie opvolger.
It shows some real dedication to radio, not to mention the time, effort & knowledge required to put something like that together.
I wonder if you have ever been tempted to study for an amateur radio licence? I suppose though with all that spectrum to listen to, I doubt you would have time HI!

Okay, why is this video titled "Hamradio" when the QSL card says "Short Wave Listener?" Ham radio and shortwave listening are not the same things. The former transmits while the latter listens without transmitting.

Suspect most today, without some guidence, couldn't truly tell the difference between the two radio activities, and it certainly doesn't help when we ourselves use the terminology wrong. By the way, I did not "dis" the guy about his hobby. Own several shortwave receivers myself.
You do not copy CW QSO? Morse Code is an important part of amateur radio. I have a friend who is also SWL and copy CW. He has received many QSL communicated with CW.
