skinny puppy; yeah. trent toured with them early on. obviously influenced by them.
joy division (your name); yeah. he covered dead souls by them. good influences. he also covered gary numan, who made some badass industrial albums in his 90s comeback like exile.
Fuckin awesome video, good quality too. I've had the audio on mp3 for years and never knew which performance it was from. Just knew it was self destruct era.
This is actually Lollapalooza '91 era. This is when Chris Vrenna left the band for a short time because he went crazy, and they still had no bass player/keyboardist. It was Woolley on keyboards and the bass and everything else still played on tape.
reel to reel tape. Watch all the clips that are up of the first Sanctified performace. You'll see it, before they moved it off stage in later performances.

Hmmm.... Anyone notice that the synth part to now im nothing was sampled on the 2006 summer tour? they used it at the beginning of somewhat damaged.
bosshallucy 3 years ago 4
Yup, I noticed it. That was also a killer performance I might add. (you can find it here on YouTube as well)
This is by far one of the best songs to lead into Terible Lie. It gives me goosebumps. lol

I don't rate it as much, but it's yet another good track not available, like Non-Entity
capitalg07 3 years ago
It is available! Only on the bootleg called "Purest Feeling". It can and HAS been found by fluke by fans in the least likeliest of places!

First time I've ever heard "Now I'm nothing". Now I know why it's on the back of my shirt. Any reason he kept it off the album?
mr5elfde5truct 4 years ago
Now I'm Nothing, The Perfect Drug, Burn...it seems most of the very best songs are kept off the main albums!
capitalg07 4 years ago
Burn was released on Downward Spiral deluxe edition, along with Dead Souls and the Se7en version of Closer.
InquisitorDHS 4 years ago
The Perfect Drug wasn't as good of a song as the other two listed. The very best ones WERE put on the albums
ReznorRules420 4 years ago
Trent wrote this song for the 1991 lollapaloza tour, for intro.
