The appearance of Kong's fur ruffling in the wind was not deliberate. For the stop-motion photography Willis O'Brien had to move the Kong model in every frame, and could not do so without disturbing the model's rabbit fur covering.
it is interesting to see the change in society in movies anyway... The original movie had the dame as a woman who couldn't defend herself and needed a man to rescue her.. In the 2005 version we see that the dame is fully capable of handling herself and even fights for Kong at the end.... It's fascinating to see the differences
@TheSovietSamurai... do not compare a movies that are almost 72 years apart... 2005 remake will of course have the best CGI and whatnot.. but it will never beat the original in any way other then CGI
It is quite a powerfull clip, poetical and efficient. There is also something tragical in this editing of good old and new productions. I love it. Pascal
sad and wonderful movie, sad because Kong is a monster, but actually a big heart monster... at 4:30 he said "goodbye", a few seconds later he receive the fatal blow by the real monster...
choochootrain34: The original Kong wasn't intended to simply be a literal gorilla; he's supposed to be a monstrous, hybrid ape from a prehistoric age. Lots of people forget thisfact about the 1933 movie.
@Sirpain1: You pretty much summed it up. We end up feeling sorry for Kong because he wants something he can't have, and dies trying to keep it. It's sad, but not in an overly sentimental way.
@TheThomas0204 thats called the Chrysler Building i live here in new york and that building is big but not nearly as big and beautiful as the empire state building.
@millartime19 The song is called God Moving Over The Face Of The Waters and it's from the movie soundtrack of heat (1995). I found the ending of heat strangely familiar with the1933 king kong ending for some weird reason. Thus, i made this video!
how many realise that Marion C Cooper was one of the guys in the planes that shot down Kong .making the movie was such a difficult endevor he said "Let's kill this SOB ourselves" I believe his co-writer and producer was also in the planes

The 2005 remake is 1000 times better, better story, concept and definitely effects. But I guess you can't expect a 1933 film to have decent CGI lol.
