Once at a BNL concert, Steven Page invited me and a friend to watch them warm up, and this is one of the 2 songs they play(I don't remember the other). This is one of my favorite songs by them, and now I always want to hear the live version.
This song decribes a relationship I once had with a guy. It was an pretty empty emotional relationship. We were sexually driven to eachother - as the song says we "spoke of penetration", but we never had sex. We listened to music. We shared secrets. I wanted him to come back - not because I loved him, only because it was a sexual connection, not an emotional connection - and that's what to me, this song is all about. It's from the guy's perspective - i'm looking at it from a girl's perspective.
"my tongue inside her-in the basement of her mother's house...."That line reminds me of being in the basement of MY mother's house with my highschool boyfriend, and her killing the moment yelling"make sure you two leave the door dpen!"
One of my faves... to sing in the car no less. I agree, never over played... it feels more special to the fans, like they are just for us. And this song is so appropriate as they all are. Such funny and moving songs, I bet these guys have lots of stories.
Oh I sooo agree with maxgreen79.....BNL never cease to amaze me either. Steve is always flawless!! They are amazing. Steve has the most beautiful voice I have yet to hear no matter what he sings!!!!
What is this Youtube Poop?

If you never had sex but listened to music and shared secrets it sounds like an emotional connection.

none of their albums compare with stunt. all their stuff is great but there's something so put-together and beautiful about stunt.

Alcohol, In the Car and Call & Answer are my favs from that album...
Mayeb its just me, but I like that they haven't been aired.

It's not just you.
They always play songs to death on the radio.
It's just that I think this song is to underrated.
I saw them live on their Maroon tour, and they didn't play this song.
But I ♥ it so!
They didn't play "Told You So" either, and that's my other fav from Stunt.
Stunt just rocks anyway!
They rock all around!
