Hi a lot of people don't know that the display contrast knob is actually a button besides being just a knob.If You press the display contrast knob You will hear a click.Hopefully it turns the backlight back on.It might not be anything wrong with the backlight after all?Give it a try and tell.Me if it works.Good luck.

ok i got mines fix with forat i live in miami that man is the trufthhe does it him self he even calls you we talking about a humble man. just avoid to messed up your mpc double shipped send it to forat.
If you are worried about getting your MP back Forat will take care of you dude...I'm not affiliated w/ they guy but had some work done on my 60ii and 3000 no problem...keep bangin
yo your red lights are on because when you opened your mpc the wires that connect the boards came apart. All you have to do is open your mpc. press the wires down that connect the boards together. they came apart when you opened the machine.

i'd call Akai and order a new display. unless the powers out that supply the pins on the backlight, that should fix it.
