Well, the national election still is the most important one. It's by being in power in the UK (government) that you can ask for a referendum, not by sitting in the European Parliament. And when you have only 3% of the voters behind your party, you can't say 'we want out of the EU' when you represent such a small part of the voters.
1) People are much more sceptic during recessions. 2) How representative and valid are those polls?? 3) Polls vary from 50% in favour to only 30% in favour of staying in the EU. It's all relative. It depends on which poll you base it on. 4) With all the negative publicity about the collapse of the euro/EU and the fact most newspapers like the daily mail have their daily anti-EU articles full of lies, it's strange not more people are against it.

Well, the national election still is the most important one. It's by being in power in the UK (government) that you can ask for a referendum, not by sitting in the European Parliament. And when you have only 3% of the voters behind your party, you can't say 'we want out of the EU' when you represent such a small part of the voters.

1) People are much more sceptic during recessions. 2) How representative and valid are those polls?? 3) Polls vary from 50% in favour to only 30% in favour of staying in the EU. It's all relative. It depends on which poll you base it on. 4) With all the negative publicity about the collapse of the euro/EU and the fact most newspapers like the daily mail have their daily anti-EU articles full of lies, it's strange not more people are against it.

. The two main parties gather disproportionate numbers of votes from people who are scared of their least favourite party getting a seat. If you vote UKIP you might let a Labour/Conservative candidate get in!
If the system was proportional representation,(like the European Elections) with all its faults, the parties like UKIP and the Greens, would garner more votes and definitely more MPs.

the EU whatever-fancy-name-organisation gave 1.2 million to redevelopment in Cornwall. Birmingham's redevelopment (Bullring, mailbox and other centres) were part-EU funded.
