Back when Gold & Silver came out it actually WAS exciting to have a new generation introduced. This was only right after the original games so you couldn't help but be interested in the idea of new Pokemon, not to mention that a few were already being introduced in the anime like Togepi that were starting to grow on us. Now they're up to their 5th generation and it's really getting to feel like it's just dragging on.

These games were in my opinio the best in the whole series. Red/blue/yellow were awesome, but with gold/silver we finally got the answers to our qeustions like where does togepi come from and who's that flying pokémon that creates rainbows which ash seen at the beginning of his journey.Also Gold and silver are full of myths (twin towers,whirl islands).The music in the original gold and silver are so good as well. Imo it went downhill from ruby/sapphire. Lame pokémon, lame storyline.
