This unofficial game is really better than the official release, and actually the same happens with aladin, both official games seem to have been rushed just for making money of the people who didn't had a 16 bit system (with the exception of the sega 8bit release of lion king/aladin, both are great).

For a pirate game, it's not too bad and there's some things I really like about this version (the soundtrack is converted to 8 Bit well and Be Prepared and the Stampede theme give a different edge to the last two levels), but the levels always flash at the beginning and Simba double jumping just looks strange. And only five levels?

@rescuehero942 Licensed better? No it isnt. First you cant play as adult Simba even if you choose the skill level as King. The colors and music are worser, the hyenas look same color as Simba. The water doesent fall. Its few of these Unreleased or Pirated games that actually beats the original.
