  • Wristcutters: A Love Story brought me to this video like 4 years ago, I'm probably at least 81,000 of the viewers of this video.

  • @kamicericimo I think the fact that pictures of roofs on the word roof is different cause its so plain and duh that no one would really put an actual picture of a roof. So I like the many roofs, just sayin

  • when i get my car i'm going to sing along to this song with my friends

  • I love this song and the movie I found it on

  • If i ever off myself i would it by cutting my wrist

    :)

  • does anyone know where to find the music for the harmonica parts?

  • @conypony i may be mistaken, but im pretty sure its an accordian. not a harmonica. so your on your own with that

  • @Ktingles6 oh shoot you're right... lol my bad

  • @conypony lol dont worry about it, i can see how you thought that. harmonica would sound pretty cool with the chords n stuff though!

  • @Ktingles6 i actually learned a few bits of it on my own since i asked and it sounds so similar i swear haha. i guess i thought it was a harp cuz i had just gotten one then i found this song lol

  • I've found this is a common problem with many people these days.

For anyone that doesn't know, "ciao" is pronounced "chow". (If you were reading it above there)

Boggles my mind how many people don't know that...

  • you never get tired of this song and the movie Wristcutter... i watched it more than 10 times in about 2 years. :)

  • I for one like the Video

  • The maze in the ad is too easy

  • what a movie, what a song!

  • Their strategy of being is one of in your face disguise!

  • everybody loves this song after wristcutters.

  • Love it. First heard this on wristcutters and that movie was so good. I like the way you made the video, it may be lazy but i would do so much worse <3

  • @karnicericimo well, I'm glad a person with such an outstanding imagination that it managed to "create" booze stupid videos has visited mine. at least I tried. this video was posted long before anything else of the song was on youtube. I was so in love with it I just wanted to share it. regardless of the pictures... they were just a fill in. ciao

  • @ancasmth

Pay no mind to the haters. Thanks for posting this

  • @ancasmth Dude why do you give a shit? :)

  • @ancasmth yeah, you tell that fucker.

  • @ancasmth I think the pictures fit well. fuck the critics. GB would.

  • @ancasmth you're probably right and I appreciate the fact, that you uploaded the song, but since this is, in my opinion, really one ofe the greatest songs lyricwise, and it's so true what he says i must also say: this video is not really a tribute that fulfills the aspiration of the message. still i think you chose nice pictures and I guess it was some effort but I think if you love that song you will agree with me.. still I respect you try since I don't have the time to make a better one

  • @karnicericimo i like your video fuck this guy

  • @karnicericimo quit trying to put people down. >:|

  • @karnicericimo quit trying to put people down. >:| u douche.

  • @karnicericimo I looked at your own uploads. And since the video of the back window view on a moving tram was so deeply metephorical(The tracks represent the way... er. something about war.), I clicked "Show comment" simply for the pleasure of giving you another thumb down. c:

  • @karnicericimo You're dumb. like ancasmth said, its not neccesarily an interpretation. also she was being literal not figurative. lern yer engrish.

  • @karnicericimo You're fucking stupid

  • @karnicericimo "When they said 'roof' you thought of a 'roof'. What the fuck is wrong with you"

  • "Where do you come from?", I asked him; and he pointed up, and then down.

  • Not trying to one up anyone but i was a fan of gogol bordello before wrist cutters.

an awesome movie made better by an awesome band.

  • @stoccody You sir are a hipster. lol

  • @stoccody I was a fan before "Everything is Illuminated", when they played at a tiny wine bar in WI .after Multi-Contra Culti came out....who cares? they're good at all stages.

  • Comment removed

  • @schnook11 Take it easy brah. Just enjoy the tunes.

  • @stoccody Point taken. Except I'm a girl :)

  • Everybody knows guy in back seat doesn't have cock.

  • 83 ppl don't have a roof

  • If ever I off myself, I'd want a tape of this in my pocket too.

  • @ThePumpkinKing27 SAME. OH MY GOODNESS.

  • @ThePumpkinKing27 not just a tape... but a Russian friend to travel with me. No smile needed.

  • @sinnspenn i wish i could fit a russian friend in my pocket.

  • @ThePumpkinKing27 Oh maaan, i so agree with you!

Wristcutters: A Love Story is the most awesome movie i've ever seen, it always cheers me up & this music is just...... aaawwwwww *good feelings inside* ^^

  • :'] fav drinking a song

  • ah finaly<333 i found it, i love this song so much

  • Tom Waits' part in this movie made me happy.

  • kushta, shukar mush! lendis a baro dilliamengro (:

  • NO SMOKING,,,UNLESS YOU WANT TO hahaha

  • Have only just been introduced to the film where it appears a lot of people first heard this song. It must be said, a wonderfully understated and considered look at human tragedy and hope. This song just punctuated it perfectly, love it

  • 4:44 - should read Shave our Planet

  • This is Michael Edward Christensen brother of Madeline Christensen. I used this song in my darkest hour to overcome death when everything told me different. THROUGH THE ROOF-UNDERGROUND.

  • LOL. I have this first picture on the wall in my room :> I see we like similar things both in music and photography ;)

  • where did you get the pictures from?!

  • Серебряные зайцы водят хоровод=))

    не ожидал!

  • Because it's not about being underground - it's how you get there...

  • This song and story will always be a part of me.There will always be a place in my heart for it.

  • dark dark dark - junk bones.

Look that shiet up on youtube. If you like this song you should realllly like it.

  • @misterbojangless oh my god

    thank you

  • this song makes me feel better

  • From what I get from this, the message is if you are different, you have to go away from the mainstream, or take it over. In other words, do something. Anything.

  • Sad to say I would not have known about GB if not for "Wristcutters." What a f#cking awesome song.

  • @LanceThruster That's not sad. Wristcutters was a wonderful movie (: but Gogol Bordello reigns supreme!

  • @randomtwinkie94 Wristcutters was indeed a fun movie. The "sad" is the sorry state of commercial radio. I love good music, it just takes a dedicated self-directed search to keep coming across the style you like and want to hear more. At least it does when I'm in the car. (I need to hook up my Sirius again)

  • @LanceThruster same for me, same for many others. one more reason WC is awesome.

  • This song was good before wristcutters..wristcutters just made it better :]

  • @Brandonrobocop Hipster.

  • @maddenefex No thanks.

  • @Brandonrobocop hipster

  • Are you doing it on purpose man? To hurt me?

  • I love how these comments have to do with probably the greatest Indie Film of all time<3

  • Beautiful video, and yet, depressing... But that's why I like it? xD

  • how do u effin dislike these guys? WTF were they thinkin

  • ok so first time i heard this song, was in wristcutters, but then I forgot, and a friend sent it to me and I was like omg I love it! lol

  • Effing LOVE this song!

  • what i don't get is, why do they have to make a living even though they are dead?!

  • @AverageJop25 they are just trying to do something to make things a little less worse, like live in a house, get electricity. they need money to buy things that they enjoy like beer and pizza. we do the same here, "we work jobs we don't like to buy shit we don't need" like beer and pizza.

  • @AverageJop25 because everythings the same, just a little bit worse

  • I tried to smile to this song... But couldn't...

  • The 1st time I actually herd this song was in the movie Wristcutters: A Love Story..Fell in love with the song and the movie.

  • woah. its been forever since i heard this song... good times =)

  • woop!i thought i never hear this again

  • thumbs up if seeing gogol live sent you..

  • When there is trap

    set up for you

in every corner of your room

  • I love this song and more importantly the movie behind it...

  • hehe, the first picture of this video is taken in the metro in Budapest

  • @kubicica u know that how?

  • @stonedshoe420 because I live here and travel every day by that line :) so I'm 99% sure

  • thumps up if Kill Your Idols sent you

  • How would this song have anything to do with Wrist Cutters other than it being featured?

It's about countries, borders, and current culture.

  • @Sertrinous one of the main characters was modeled after Eugene (i dont know why) and he and his band made the song and he had it on him when he died that's it.

  • @Sertrinous YES! I agree but that film was also about a struggle to escape a world where people felt trapped it was about trying to find a way out. Do you remember the Russian guy Eugene in the film Well he quite obviously is Eugene Hutz lead singer Of Gogol Bordello. In fact i havn't got a clue why The real Eugene did'nt play himself because Hutz Is an AMAZING actor. So i disagree with you in a way my friend the song is perfect for the film.

  • 8o people gone under the car seat... hopefully.

  • @grinderman911 I went through the hassle of logging in simply to up vote you, sir.

  • @grinderman911

that means they're going back to the living :D

  • @toomanypetzfan. Serves them right.

  • 80 people are trapped between their roof and the underground... Poor, poor souls!!

  • allah varsa gelsin söyle bir şarkı yazsın. anca yobazların ilahilerini sever zaten.

    -hıh

  • I think it is about heaven and hell.

  • When I first heard this song, I thought the singing was weird, how broken it is, but I listened t it like 3 times, and now I can't stop listening.

  • hey how about everyone agree this is an amazing song yes i heard it on wristcutters but the song itself made me love this song just listen and stop chillin underground and go through the roof and just enjoy the song :D lol

  • @bobby1says1hi I had actually found out about Gogol not that long before I saw the movie Wristcutters. When I realized their music was in the movie I totally geeked out. Great flick, btw. I looked for this song imediately.

  • 79 people hit the dilike button... falling through their roof....

  • UGH! Wrist Cutters does NOT define this song. This is EXACTLY why Eugene denied the part.

If you found Gogol because of Wristcutters, good, but PLEASE stop with your uninformed quotes about how this song has ANTHING to do with the movie. It was made first, it was made better. Plain and simple.

  • This song has nothing to do with suicide. It obviously has multiple interpretations but I would say that it's about immigration and the struggle of finding yourself in between cultures, countries, etc.

  • Great Song!

  • haha this is an acctual song?

i thought they made this song in wristcutters

i mean this song totally is about suiside

talking about how theres traps set up for you every where for you and how you feel you must go underground.. aka death

  • @bloopaexpress underground also means to go undetected. and going through the the roof implies that you are stuck in your current situation and have no way to go except 'through the roof'. its really subjective, each member of Gogol Bordello probably has a different interpretation of this song.

  • @bloopaexpress Underground doesn't stand for death exactly it more likely means Hell (the roof meaning heaven)

  • @bloopaexpress SPELL SUICIDE RIGHT YOU ILLITERATE TWAT

  • serebryanie zaizi tam vodyat horovod!!!!

  • what a great movie this was. and this song...this song was a well-fitting glove

  • <33333333 Love this

  • Great movie and perfect song to go with it!!

  • very cool song. thanks for post!

  • <3

  • Ooohoohoooh through the roof, underground

Ooohoohoooh through the roof, and underground

And as the boy scouts learn to read between the lines

The silver rabbits hop between their fathers' lies

And boy scouts ask "Where? Where do they go?"

They go to the country that they only know. . .

  • The songs about jews.

  • This song is truely art...Because as you can read from other comments, everyone has their different opinion on what its about.

  • @VerdwaaldOdyssey this is true to everything... but i think it's a really good song by the way

  • @VerdwaaldOdyssey yeah, it's a bit like Offspring's "You're gonna go far, kid", everyone can take their meaning, and they'r all right. 2 effing good songs.

  • good song

  • Not trying to sound like a know it all, I promise. But this song is not about suicide, but rather, like most of Eugene's songs, about the difficulties he has suffered as a "cultural refugee" He has a lot of hate and emotion in regards to boarder control etc after his travels from the Ukraine to America when he was 17

  • This song is NOT about individual suicide, y'all aren't paying attention.

It's about the decline of indigenous cultures under the homogenizing force of globalization and corporate-driven consumerism (mostly emanating from the worst corners of the United States but it is by no means the only culprit in this atrocity). "the world's the same as it ever was, there's just less in it" as a pirate once said. You want color in your life, you have to go "through the roof " and "underground" to find it.

  • i luv Gogol Bordello, and i saw Wristcutters, but i never noticed this was in the movie :)

  • @demolitionlover6732 where you watching it whithout your ears? the song's played 3 or more times, in the movie, one of them they sing along (considered by some the best part of the movie), and you didn't notice?!

  • @demolitionlover6732 dude they all frecking sing the song in the car lol

  • @demolitionlover6732 dude they all frecking sing the song in the car lol

  • Actually, after about a million listens, and thinking about why this particular song was chose for a certain movie, I think it's about suicide.

The whole song basically says if you're totally effed and there's just no hope, you've gotta escape.

And through the roof and underground?

Through the roof alludes to a floating up to heaven kind of thing, and underground, well, duh, ya know...

    Awesome song.

  • @happydudeman1 Fair enough hahaha

  • 77 people need to watch Wristcutters:A love story. (or kill themselves)

  • @FoxinaCuddlePuddle Didn't you get the message of the movie? You aren't supposed to do that!

  • одна из любимых песен

  • @reko0418 A story of a crooked tree and a straight tree?

  • @TheSethman95 straight tree had what was coming

  • @TheSethman95 ...I don't care if it sounds lame but I always thought that was a beautiful story.

  • this is a great song which i heard in a great movie... Really nice..

  • my father killed himself 2 years ago. I was 14....this song saved my life

  • Good song...

  • Wrist Cutters was is a wicked movie.

  • This song's message for me is being sick of where you are and wanting to go somewhere else. :)

  • fan's video absolutely sucks. but thanks for song :)

  • @TatankaIXc Awwh come on man. He took the time out of his life to bring us a good song, and he put something with it that does it some justice. Mum's have said for ages; If you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all. I think that it would have been better that you left the first bit out man. For politeness.

  • @irishfinger man, that's my opinion. M Y O P I N I O N. if you don't like opinions that disagree with your own, you have got a problem, mate. I think that compilation of pictures sucks.

  • @TatankaIXc

you're basically saying everyone has a problem. everyone is going to disagree with someones opinion that isn't their own. in all honesty, it may be your own opinion, but realize that not EVERYONE is going to agree with you and your opinion. i agree, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but sometimes it's best to keep it to yourself.

  • @toomanypetzfan man read some psychological books, and than speak about verbal communication and human relation ;)

  • @TatankaIXc Just because you have an opinion, doesn't mean you have to share it.

  • @hanksingle my god, is everything okay with you? Listen, I'll make your day - you are right! And now go back to your fanatic kindergarden. no offence man, but, you know... grow up ;)

  • it's a shame that their best days are behind them . . . .

  • 76people have no idea of music. im sure that they are psychedelic retards!

  • 76 people got caught in the trap.

  • This is an absolutely wonderful song, I loved the movie. I need a car like that.

  • This is an absolutely wonderful song, I loved the movie.

  • This just might be the greatest song I have ever heard in my life.

  • hey can i borrow sombodies sunglasses i keep dropping mine and my car keeps eating them under the seat

  • @synRdave I would but you dropped my Tabaco down there to...

  • fuck i was dancing so much to this song that my lighter fell out of my bra under my car seat :-(

  • god this movie is soooo fucking good but almost no one saw it?!!?!?!?

  • @pimpinsins

everyone saw it, just no one wanted to discuss it with the likes of you.

  • i changed the color of a fish to this song.

  • @thegradualreport I simply wonder how this happened. True gorgol transcends genetic laws and may have the power to transmute non bi-pedal sea creatures, but my assumption is that it would be more likely to happen during the course of listening to Start Wearing Purple. Your thoughts....

  • 76 people got lost under the carseat.

  • i love this song so much

  • best song / movie ever

  • road trip anyone?

  • I'm glad I found this song...

  • @WiddleMissMimi Omg XD

  • When there is trap set up for you,

In every corner of this town,

And so you learn the only way to go is underground.

When there is a trap set up for you,

In every corner of your room,

...And so you learn the only way to go is through the roof.

    Ooohooooh, through the roof, underground.

    Ooohooooh, through the roof, underground.

    I FEEL IT SO HARD!

  • they deserve a beer for this song

  • @khpunkrock I'll bet you a beer you're right.
