I once drove on Highway 50 from Ely, Nevada to Reno. Between Ely and Fallon I saw about seven cars on the highway if you don't count the short periods of time it took to drive through the handful of small towns.
I'm really enjoying these videos and the speedy approach you took. I've traveled Hwy. 50 many times and I'm now writing a blog about the Lincoln Highway in Nevada.
My plan is to take my Model T across the highway next year, but I won't be traveling quite as fast.
Austin, Nevada looks like East Twelfths Street headed towards Webberville.
My new dentist is named Austin and is from Nevada. He does excellent crowns and his dental assistant babes are hot. Modern Austin Dentistry is cutting edge, just like Austin, Texas/Nevada.
@GeorgieWise Cutting edge like Austin, NV? I think I saw a sign there that said "Welcome to Austin, please set your clocks back 40 years" No but seriously, thumbs up for hot Dental Assistants.
Great Video! I did this route last summer on a bicycle, and it was alot different watching it than climbing up those mountains . Everyone should see this beautiful part of the country
An amazing video. I did not know people posted these timelapse 'movies' of trips. I love that it can give you a real idea of what the drive is like. This is much better than simple photos of the area. Thank you for this entertaining, educational and beautiful photo.
I don't care what anyone says - Hwy. 50 from western Utah to Fallon NV is my absolute favorite highway in all the world. I never miss the chance to drive it.
I just finished a solo round trip Coast to Coast trip by Motorcycle. US 50 Nevada into Utah was just mind blowing. Simply incredible that this HWY was traced in the middle of nowhere! After leaving Fallon NE going East on US 50... three towns spaced 90+ miles apart! Awesome!
Super video, my friends and I will be driving to Ely, NV. Austin is on the way, try and visit the mines there. Thank-You for the peek Music was Very Good. Did you use a camcorder or film? A++

Holy crap, at 2:07 you can see where Kowalski turned off the road in 1970 and at 2:42 you can see where the police car chasing him flipped.

Great video!! I lived in Austin 1980-1986. Started out as an underground silver miner for Argus Resources and Manhattan Consoldated,
then ran The Country Store and then Lander Lumber & Supply. Worked for Wild Bill Givens and the Honorable Hanging Judge Frank Bertrand
Climbed Bunker Hill 4 (four) times. I miss the Owl Club.

Thanks. I'd like to see it in the winter. I can't wait to go back there again myself.

My ears popped. I like how it slowed and sped up in different parts.

Thanks for the comments. I really enjoyed the drive from Ely to Austin, but from Austin to Carson City wasn't all that great.
