This does not work for steam. only helps you get passed the charactor profiling then you get a crash at the play pen scene.

balls to it no fixes have worked for me, I've done this, ran it as administrator, enabled net frame, put steam in windows XP 3 mode, Nothing has worked, thanks a lot Bethesda you managed to make a game that almost no one with a windows 7 can run!

@217Tyrant I found it, or maybe, once you finish the installing, restart the computer, or, restart it when it finishes downloading some other software. If you do not restart your comp/laptop, it may corrupt the game files causing you having to reinstall it.

when fllout 3 came out windows 7 was not out and windows xp and vista were 32 bit and windows 7 is 64 bit so you cant blame bethesda for not making it compatable for an operating system that's wasnt out yet

When you change the bUseThreadedAI=0 to bUseThreadedAI=1 then add iNumHWThreads=2 it does not let you save the file. Need administrative properties or something? Any idea on how to bypass that?

This video is not for the crashing...this video is for once you fix the crashing and your game works but it's just laggy ang buggy as shit. I had the same problem as you tho, my game would crash right when i started a new game so i never got to play any of it....however I did fix all the crashing by doing what it says in a certain video that i will send you the link to cause it wont let me post the link. You have to do both the things it says in the video tho. plz dont give up on it!
