HI. i would like to know, some people say the katana is heavy. some people say the katana is light. how is it suppose to weight? heavy or light. when you hold a katana, the first thing you will feel is its weight. so roughly how heavy a real katana would weight? thanks!
@rudderhardtoport katanas are heavy, i have 2 real katanas, one made during the satsuma rebellion and one made just before WW2. they are both heavy. fake katanas are light because of the steel used in making them. real katanas have a heavy iron or steel core that is soft. the cutting edge is a light brittle steel.
I appreciate what you are doing for all the new sword collectors as i am beginning to collect swords. I find all of your videos very helpful thank you very much.
great video my friend! now i'm by no means an expert on Japanese blades but I have been collecting them most of my life and by what I can see I really think that tang has been cut down some ,that blade seems to me to be awfully long for such a short tang I know the Tachi style blades where long but its been my experience so (most of the time) where the tangs ,the fact that it is unsigned means nothing many blades made by master smiths where never signed......great looking blade either way,THX

How do you think that the sword smith cut the blood groove in the end of the sword. Its a sort of chizel?
