I love this video because the images are clear. In all the other jose gonzalez videos i've seen, they seem to be interesting but the excessive darkness and bad quality of the video makes me want to stop seeing them. I mean, they don't seem to be recorded with a shitty camera, so, why can't whoever who's posting this upload a good quality video? I really like his music, its a shame i cant appreciate his videos how they deserve to be appreciated because of technical limitations...

The chorus is a complete rip of Nick Drake's "Hanging on a star" from his unreleased album Time of No Reply, its the same but the other way rouund. I like Jose Gonzales but I really don't like Veneer. I do like In Our Nature though, that's a good album.

Jose is really on to something cool. He's also one of the great arrangers of the day...his cover songs are stunningly beautiful! And of course this song (and video) is great!

comparisons between jose and nick drake aren't exactly informed. Jose is solely an acoustic guitar and vocal performer, nick drake used flutes, drums and many other instruments in his music, different styles altogether.

Nick Drake is/was the greatest at what he did

in regard to his own unique playing style, however he wouln't foot it with Segovia when it came to playing a complicated Bach piece for Classical guitar, and he wouldn't foot it

with Memphis Minny when it comes to playing

guitar - Boogie Woogie piano style on strings

-neither would he better Robert Johnson on slide playing delta blues guitar. So to say

josé is very talented indeed, but is greatly inferior to nick drake. the main thing you see, is that josé gonzález seems to know merely this type of melancholic folk songs. nick drake on the other hand, was much more varied as a musician, while he still could handle the melancholic folk song just as good, and better (imo) than gonzález.

i think gonzalez has a very unique sound. its certainly may resemble becaue they are both indie acoustic but nick drake doesnt have as distinctive a sound as gonzalez does.
