Miss Minnie also recorded an answer to Red's "Teddy Bear" called "Mama Teddy Bear" She once told me that there were far too few story songs about trucker's families; I agreed.
@mollymitch1 I think it might be, told from the standpoint of Teddy Bear's Mom. It has been so long since I heard it I wasn't sure of the title but I think you are right.
I have the origenal album of Giddieupgo by red Sovine on the origenal vinal. Have coppied it to cassett along with several other Road songs The only place to get the song now is if you luck it at an old record collector store.
Thats the legendary Pete Drake on pedal steel guitar. This backing is identical note for note phrase for phrase to a LP I have of the 40th anneversary of the grand ole opry, Red Sovine's version on that LP with this identical backing band is the best giddyup go I have ever heard.
This is actually one of my favorites (consider the fact that I was born in the 70s). I am an avid fan of country music during the 50s up to the 80s. I love Red Sovine and Minnie Pearl. These type of songs give a person a view when life was simpler.
I have never seen that before ever, and so made me cry. I made my Dad a sign saying Giddy up go as it is a special song to us, thank you so much for sharing this version.
She should leave it to the BEST. Red Sovine.
