Today Germany is using fifths columns to infiltrate and systematically suppres any opposition in other countries on its way to world domination. This includes faking evidence to let people disappear in prison, cause them trouble and murder them.

She is suspected of hitting a mine on 12 March '45 as bow is extensively damaged, but now is felt to have hit uncharted pinnacle discovered 120 metres south of wreck known '78 Rock' (discovered in 1978 eeven though U260 found it in 1945?!). No losses to crew who rowed 4 miles ashore and interred for remainder of war - no allied activity in area on that date. I dived it many times since year 2000 doing external tour 15-20 mins each time, total dive time 45-50 mins with deco stops - quite safe
all subs near Great Britains coast were sunk by Germans because they wouldn't hand their advanced engineering over to the enemy at the end of the world wars
You're an ignorant moron! I challenge you to provide on iota of evidence to back up that idiotic statement of yours. Personally, I won't hold my breath waiting for it. You're nothing more than a contemptible imbecile who is confusing personal sectarian and racist opinion with fact. I'll tell you what is fact. Allied service personnel captured in our country were routinely hand back over the border to the British, while Germans were routinely imprisoned for the duration of the war.
We have a sunken German U Boat that is10 miles off our shore. It is located straight out from an amusement pier. It has deck gun ammunition strewn around it . The hatches were welded closed for safety, as it is not a novice dive. I was told that a large amount of Mercury was found on board. My Uncle was on a brand new Tanker that was sunk by this group of subs -- He survived.
i dont think you should go into this submarines because it were disrespectful to dive into a submarine where people died inside. I hope you wont do it.
I did hear a story of a U-Boat that had sunk off the Bahamas (or similar location) and when the divers banged the hull it sounded hollow - ie, it was not full of sea and sand.....
In England , maritime port of Liverpool , they have an intact U-Boat that has been sectioned up and sealed with perspex at each section ends to allow maximum number of people to see her this is the U-534. She was raised with all artefacts onboard.
These old boats are structurally unsound - a number of divers have died trying to explore them. They are 65 year old rust-buckets - I wouldn't recommend going inside....
Does anyone know the logistics of a sunken Submarine surviving completely intact ?
I know a war grave could not be disturbed or entered, but if one could? and has stayed watertight, as 18thc lead coffins have been discovered in London, and contents preserved as an egyptian tomb could stay uneffected by air. Could it be then at some time when technology exsists...be scanned by magnetometry radar or geophysics to see inside?
Just fascinates me - the idea of looking into a time capsule
Scuttled at 2230hrs on 12 March, 1945 south of Ireland, in position 51.15N, 09.05W, after being mined. Whole crew interned in Ireland 48 survivors (no casualties).
According to the historical records that I have seen, U260 was damaged by a mine in early 1945. It was obvious that the boat would sink soon, so all the men aboard abandoned ship successfully and made for the Irish coast nearby. Thus it is NOT a war grave and there are no ethical objections to entering the sub. However, such a dive would be most hazardous and should not be attempted by anyone but the most experienced, best equipped divers. VERY HAZARDOUS!!
i wonder why this sunken boats dont look anything like they do in the 40s phothograps ,,wheres the conning tower??what happened to the shape of the vessel??the deck was made of wood but the conning tower wasnt
@pudransemarikas Only the inside trunk of the tower remains. the outside rarely survives. Often times it is pulled of by fishing nets! Or it rusts away as the outer sheeting was of a much thinner sheet metal. I did see at least one u-boat in deep water where the outer casing of the tower remained and was calcified. It was really cool to see!!
@diablemarin ok i see, thanks for the info pal ,, are you a professional diver? youve seen only german uboats? or other subs too? which is the more intact german one?
@sweenaldo1993 They might be able to get close, but if it has a nuclear reactor then every one pisses themselves incase it leaked... otherwise i dont think they would because of the preassure or some shit like that.
@PuRPLENEMESiiS They didn't have nuclear submarines in the 40's, and if the hull is ruptured (which presumably it is), the pressure of the water would be equal to that of outside the U-boat.
These dives are at pretty extreme depth. You have only pretty few minutes before reaching your turning point. At open circuit specially this becomes issue since your RMV is like 20 liters per minute roughly.
These dives are at pretty extreme depth. You have only pretty few minutes before reaching your turning point. At open circuit specially this becomes issue since your RMV is like 20 liters per minute roughly. It's completely possible to go inside but possibly dangerous as hell. I have dived that boat, its amazing to see.The periscope is in eccellant condition the lense looks new.
It did not hit a mine it was corral that cause her to sink.
The u boat should not have been there as that part of Ireland was considered nuetral, it is believed they were looking to sneak up on England via Ireland.
Incidently the man who discovered her also drowned at the site.
Amazing! It must have been a fantastic experience! And in spite of having been scuttled by own crew the boat seems remarkably well preserved. U-260 is a Type VII boat. Is it true it lies 80 meters deep? tell us more about your first hand experiences...
She lies at 50 metres.I could not stay long as i was using air, the divers in the footage are using rebreathers.
The Boat is in good condintion except for the port side which has a whole in it exposing the torpedoes. There is a gun on the stern and the propellers are intact. The entrance hatch is open enabling you to look inside. All 48 crew survived.
Another great dive is the Thistlegorm(Google it) in Egypt.
wrong again . Nic died while diving the kowloon bridge. He was using an Inspiration rebreather and convulsed. His buddy tried to helphim but lost him. I found Nic some minutes later as Iwas also on that dive. Sadly we failed to revive Nic back aboard Sundancer 2. A great loss to his family and Irish divers. His wife gave birth to baby Nicola 7 months later. Safe diving Ang.
That part of the info came from people who had been diving the site for years. Whats the plaque on the cliff side, I was informed in was put there in his memory.
A plaque and a cross was placed on the Stags rocks (which is where the Kowloon was wrecked)1 year after Nic died.I helped his buddies from the Kinsale club with the work . I think it was some German divers who placed a plaque on u260 as they had dived it with Nic. It may have been removed as it spooked some divers. I live in Dublin so don,t get to dive there too often.
how did she sink? poor boys the kriegsmarine were the best and had very little nazis in their force. Who would want a annoying ss man saluting and yelling Heil Hitler evrytime i would torpedoe him out of the sub lol
The boat hit a mine at 80meteres depth. It was a british minefield (CF-2) which was illegally placed in irish territorial waters. Heavily dammaged it re-emerged aprox. 13 seamiles from Cap Clear. It transmitted an emergency massage and by the order of the commander the crew sunk thier own boat. In rubberboats they reached the irish shore at Galley Head and got detained by the british. Fortunatly no seaman died here.
detained by the irish you mean, ireland was neutral at the time and had broken free of british opression, there were no british soldiers allowed into the south of ireland
They would however have to give Nazi salutes to officers during the Nazi era. Fortunately for them I doubt that SS men were present on the subs. The Soviets did have communist party officials on their ships up to 1989 so would the Nazis do the same? Millitay personel have enough worries without some guy walking around constantly singing praises of Fianna Fáil, Labour, Republican democrats, etc.

In this case, yes.. maybe
But don't forget that most Uboat are "Grave-sites" protected..and so on.
Most went down with ALL the crew. (between 45and 70 men), and most are so deep you can't even dive to them.
U260 was scuttled..without loss.
Most were not so lucky...
I think everybody by now.. knows the numbers.
Out of 40,000 sailors on German uboats.. - 31,000 went to the bottom of the sea
