  • decent tutorial but the colored pencils he uses in them aren't what they say they are.. they are faber-castel polychromos which are oil based pencils, not wax based

  • It's the alcohol, in the marker, that loosens the colored pencil wax, right?

There has to be a way to create an alcohol mix in a refillable marker without any grey tones. It's great to have learned about this technique. It is a little bit of a battle to get the most out of the colors when the "grey" alcohol based ink keeps toning it down a notch. Any thoughts?

  • i just started water color and you have helped inspire me though the techniques you used. thanks

  • Very cool. I wonder if a paint brush and some alcohol would have the same effect, I'm afraid to muddy my spendy Copics lol. But the Copic markers contain alcohol so that might be what melts the wax hmmm..experiment time! :)

  • @craftyone2000 its ok to muddy the copics as long as you wipe them off

  • love the technique. i wonder if u could do one using graphite and color pencils. coz im in a class and the teacher ask me to do that but she doesn't explain the technique in a way i could understand ... please pleasee!!!

  • Wow I didn't know you can achieve this kind of effect with markers and color pencils, Usually I just use them for rendering. This one kind of have a water color effect. Thank you so much.

  • @drifttune YES i am xD i live for art and sorry nah i dont lol

  • Omg love those pencils...so many, so colourful...my precious!

  • @immortaliserwow

    Yea

    Sexy too.

    I do love art supplies.

    Talk soon

    Sheldon

  • I also wish more of the process had been shown, I would like to look into it more. I don't think those supplies are anymore expensive than other quality art supplies, you just get what you pay for. I know there are some artists that can turn crap into gold (with the supplies being crap) but it's truly better to get something decent.

  • are those water colour pencils or just pencils??

  • @3eneboy: Faber-Castell Polychromos are colored pencils while Faber-Castell Albrecht Duhrer Watercolor pencils are what you may be thinking of.

  • i wish you showed more of the process

ive never heard of this technique before and i found it very interesting, i want to try it when i get the proper materials

  • These are expen-sive..... mkay?
