i think i would tune it as something like EAE you have to develope your own tuning.

im going to make one and by the way i play the guitar for 3 years now.

tune it via plugin it to tuner or your pc...

ok, if you going to hand-build a guitar, go to ebay, get a gibson les paul plus top body for 30 bucks, and do the same thing whith a

$25 pickup from eppiphone, and a epiphone SG neck. lokks good, sounds good, doesnt smell like altoids.
