This is too small to have a CD drive inside, you need to share your cd drive from your desktop Pc or get a external CDdrive.

And wuthout cd drive the batery live for a long time.

a mi tambien me paso mucho este problema, de hecho 2 veces la repararon y ya en esta segunda reparacion pues a funcionado, ahora tngo el problema que es muy lenta en el Internet, yo creo la vendere lo mas pronto, salio muy mal este modelo, me gustaria saber si es solo en mexico donde salieron mal o fue toda la serie en el mundo. I recommend it, but suggest you don't run vista on it. Mine came with Vista and as we all know, vista is a resource hog!

XP or 7, when it comes out, and you'll have no worries running all kinds of stuff on this baby :)

office '03 and '07 ran no worries. Adobe (pdf viewer) runs fine too.

For anyone running windows seven, download an offline installer for Java and Flash. Their sites don't detect 7 as an operating system yet

it CAN. but not very great. the VIA processor lags and drops frames. the new HP Mini 1000 has XP and the new Intel ATOM processor, which most expensive laptops have. so, i don't know if this would be a good choice for videos.

This netbook has such potential, yet it has many and unfortunate flaws.

- It runs hot, not a major issue though.

- Even with a 6 cell battery it gives only around 3 hours of battery time.

- It has poor performance, it's still nice to be able to multi-task to some extent. Have office and 1-2 browsers + winamp running without the system bogging down on you. The 1.6ghz processor may help with this but it'll also cost you alot more.

- It's expensive

This is a really pretty laptop, its stylish, compact and the keyboard is good to type on, only thing that puts me off buying one of these is that the processor is awful, and the price for it is still a lot more than the asking price of the Asus eeepc 900, if they release the hp2133 with an atom processor for the same price, i will consider buying it. :)

some people use flash drives and dont need to carry around the cd drive. and if you wanted it. you could get the second best portable laptop on the market, the basic macbook. its cheaper has a cd drive and is way fast. so any complaints on the macbook air, fine, then its not for you. then just get a macbook. its only 2 lbs heavier. for the built in cd drive and extra hd space. so no matter way Apple comes out on top. this HP thing is a joke.

Tests done:3 cells baterry runs ONLY 1hrs 31 min !!! Is this mobile device?!

Procesoor can't run much more then Internet and text documents...troubles already wirh Skype!!!...with Eee I can run even Photoshop raw editing!!!

Reconsideradle 6 cell top model is 1,5kg and more then eur 700 in Europe.For that money you have full function, dual processor, optical drive,1.9kg 12 incher.

This is major crap model at least as long they don't switch to atom processor.

As long as it is powerful enough for the applications u need then it's ok. just claiming this is crap is stupid, Eee PC is cheap, this is a bit more, but has much higher build quality, they both target different people. Eee PC is great, but this has a wider appeal in my opinion.

What a sad blow by HP !!!

Perfect design and most of features, but FAILS with most important: processor ( lousy VIA makes HP inferior comparing Eee ) and battery life ( 3 cells just bit then 2hrs and 6 cells little more the 4hrs ).

With this two fact-specs and price in Europe probably eur 700 for top-line model...2 MUCH FOR 2 LITTLE !!!

Looks like beter be waiting for ECS G10IL.

Low cost small and very durable and very well designed it seems, this HP is on a winner. Yes, the VIA chipset is not so powerful, but HP has said that it will release models using Intel chips as they are available. of course, OSX is not a legal option, buts thats because apple won't allow people to install onto their systems
