Im wirting a paper on US foreign policy in latin america and my professor thinks US interventions were to liberate and democratize these countries somehow i have to prove him wrong.

I just realise your post was from 1 year ago. How did it go? I was going to suggest to tackle a specific example of intervention that your prof. believes best exemplifies his bizarre theory, (maybe US intervention in Cuba against the Spanish -and crucially also against Cuban wishes- in 1898?) and go from there? :)
