  • nice you bought 3 cards very smart...

  • bought? no.. i RMA it..

  • poopypunky, you've never heard of PCP&C...? seriously...? they make some of the best high end power supplies on the market and actually now they make OCZ's high end power supplies because OCZ bought them, the OCZ power supply you mentioned is no where near the quality of the 750w Silencer...

do some homework and you won't look so silly next time...

  • it has noting to do whit ati,it could be damaged. it bet it has warranty on it its new he can replace it.

  • this is why i like nvidia

  • Mine gets a BSOD once I select "New Game" in Crysis.

  • @firestormcomputers well thats a turd!

  • i am thinking of getting the gigabyte 9800 gtx+ 1gb (zalman edition) is this a good card?

  • yes it is 1 gb and 9800 gtx+ version its very good for gaming

  • i have the same problem myns a sapphire 4870 512... it works fine onb xp my card but when i switch it to vista i get this with crysis, myn is locked on 20 - 22 fps.. then i tryed vista without service pack 1 and it worked little better 30-40 fps in dense parts of the game 26-27 fps .. so i reakon it has something to do with servioce pack for vista. or drivers for the card

  • Do you have a warrity with the gigabyte HD 4870?

  • wow thats weird. im running fine at these specs

    Manufacturer: HP a6109n

    Processor: AMD 64 X2 5600+ 2.8 GHz

    Memory: 2GB (probably DDR2)

    Hard Drive: Seagate 320GB internal

    Video Card: SAPPHIRE 4870 1GB

    Monitor: HP w2007 20" 1680 1050 (16:10)

OS: Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit w/ SP1

  • i have the same problem.

but the only difference is that i have a 4870 x2. Far Cry 2 is not as smooth as i expected from a high-end gaming pc

  • i got the same Monitor :D

Nice Graphicscard i owned the 4870 X2 with 500 Watts Power Suppli :)

  • Facking same problem i hate own cuz i choose ati now i dont know what do now

  • there is almost no way this can occur on 3 different 4870's. My guess is that either ure PSU is crap, or your motherboard is broken. I once had a problem similar to yours, but I tried 2 different HD3870s. Both had the same problem. I then put the 3870 on a different comp and it worked fine. So I RMA'ed my mobo (Maximus Formula) and after recieved my new one 3 weeks later, it works fine again...

Try your graphics card on a different computer.

  • does samsung hdtv 32" la32o330 not good for gaming like in pc and ps3?bcoz of 720p not good for gaming they say...tell me why?

  • Why don't you use Crysis built-in fps meter? Just type "r_displayinfo 1" in console (without quotes).

  • hi, how Catalyst you use ond this HD4870??

  • that flashes i think that means you forget to connect one connector of the power supply to the mother board check that.

  • from my experiance the one problem is that its GIGABYTE on all the gear i have had from them seems to need to be replaced a cuple of times or its burns out in time the PSU ya useing is stable to i use a 1000 watt psu on just one 4870 and its no problem

  • dude look at my video, maybe i have the same shit product as you

  • hey by me runs the hd 4870's from coler power or so..by on very high and no aa on 5-8 fps but is the demo what is thet problem ??

  • btw i had similar problems but it wasnt half as bad, i would get like 12, 15 frames on the benchmark and i swapped the memory round with some spares i had and it solved it

  • hmmm i found out its works on X1 .. card problem... check it with GZU-P

  • it looks like a few problems.

ive never heard of that psu before getting a cheap high voltage one is bad its better to spend like £40 on a 500watt or something.

also it could be your motherboard or even your memory. Theres no way in determing this really. I would advise you to chek the card in another pc and then check the memory in another pc and then if it isnt one of them get a new motherboard and psu mate.

i would advise the ocz stealthxstream and a asus m2n e

  • WTF looks like me playing Crysis o.O

I have no booting problems ot something...

But it goes at 20-30 FPS Dx9 too :-(

I´m getting a new 790GX Board in 1 or 2 weeks, then i will check out if its working better!

I am at 3 Gb DDR2-800, Phenom OC 3100 Mhz.

  • do u have the enough power supply needed to run dat graphic card?

  • be sure that the ram works proberly :) good luck ;)

  • Can you try the gpu in another PC?

  • I have a powercolor 4870 clocked at 854/1120 and it's rock solid on my ASUS M3A79-t delux board "790Fx/750SB" and my Phenom 9850BE 3.57GHz.

Never had any problems with any ASUS board.

If you made any overclocking maybe, you need to raise the Northbridge voltage a little bit.

At 1680x1050 res with all on very-high i get 25-40+fps in crysis.

flash your gpu bios to the powercolor pcx and you'll get it to work,If not, turn it back and get a powercolor or a sapphire one.

    Good luck.

  • well its to much i think.. i dont know.. i really hope its some setings problem in bios or something...

in some places at COD4 i got 10-20FPS!

  • well guys, i tried to update my bios.... its didnt helped..

i tried F6, that should fix the VGA compatibility issues, and the F11 - the last update...

    still got booting problems.

  • ok remove ur graphics card and check if the problem is still there

  • dude, how i can remove my video card and see if it works?

    think about that...

  • lol u think about it

when ur pc boots ur speaker and pc gives off sounds soo

remove ur gpu and hear if it boots in a normal manner

  • Make sure your cpu cooler has proper contact with your CPU and also consider that you might have a defect motherboard.

Also try running a memtest+, to make sure your RAM is working correctly.

  • its a propblem with the motherboard bios or gpu bios

  • hey, mayb you can help me find (if he somewhere there), the gpu bios update? GV-R487-512H-B

  • im sure its the motherboard ill send u a link so u would get a new bios
