  • lol I have that dell monitor, 17 inch right? I use a dell 19 inch 1440x900, but I might get this one soon, looks like a monster compared to that 17 inch one. But I cant decide between 1920x1080 or 1200

  • Top review.

    Enjoyed thoroughly. hahahaha

  • Wide angle FTW I have the 24.6 These are great buy's!

  • I love your vernacular.

  • Awesome review man , i bought the same god damn monitor as well T_T ,i should have bought the model with out the webcam since i hardly even used it , but the webcam model was $20 more so why not ^^ .

make some more videos on other foolish financial decisions you made :)

  • 2:40 random scream of agony :D

  • It has those black stripes because movies are played in 16:9 aspect ratio, and you monitor has a 16:10 aspect ratio. But that monitor is awesome, as it offers great gaming resolution 1920x1200 and still can play 1080p movies.

  • holy shit... I have the same exact keyboard, monitor, speakers, and mouse as you..... I shit you not. *highfives*

  • why didn't u take the VW266H, its the same afaik, just no cam ;p and probably cheaper

  • @X41N3 nvm, i alrdy know why

  • @X41N3 The one with the camera was on sale, and so actually a little cheaper at the time...

  • Great vid man. I like how you said "you have to spend your money on something. You can't take it with you." That's a good one. Anyways, how do you like this monitor so far? It's been about a year, how did it hold up?

  • not even the mouse, cuz hes a big asshole even after i givehim new iphone 3gs and pay his food for half year almost costed me 2000 dollars

rofl, jesus christ ihate how they give crap to brazilians on shop

unfortunately ill have to get a 200 dpi mouse crap fake brand for 50 dollars and an lcd screen to replace my old one that prob will be 17 maximium inches for 800 dollars when i can earn max 200 dollars a month from 5 am until 8 pm

so yeah i envy you ppl, in usa and europe, ;/

  • rofl im brazilian female in scotland for 2 weeks more and that thing is here 300 dollars but in brazil is 1000 dollars justone seller, my lcd screen and mouse are broke in brazil and the logitech mouses are 200 dollars and here 60 dollars on ebay uk

how crap it is to be brazilian and want nice stuff eh

iguess i give up on that nice monitor, cant even bring wii

my card doesnt work here cuz brazilian bank was too retard to change it to international

and the guy i came to see wont order them

  • This made me laugh so hard...lol

  • dude ur commentary and accent is hilarious...

  • lol, laughed my ass off. hilarious. I love this crap! Some kinda builshit!!!!

  • I dont know what program you are running for the video.

    BUT

If you use VLC (or usually any other video player) you can addjust the aspect ratio of your playback and it will take much more, if not all, of your screen. I just realized this about 2 months ago and smacked myself for not realizing it eartier

  • lol

  • ur a retard dumb ass. Get it off amazon for waaay less and free shipping.

  • Yeah, if I bought this today insteady of A YEAR AGO? Yes, I could have got it for less.

Thanks for pointing out the obvious. Your parents sure didn't waste your school money.

  • @mranenome pwned :D

  • This is the worst review I have ever seen! But it's absolutely hilarious!

"....tea bags.... standard issue. Yyyyep, I lurve this crrap, you gotta spend yet money on somethang ah guess, you can't take it with ya"

hahahaha I'm going to change my pants now

  • Very colorful commentary, indeed!

So, uh, Mr. Mranenome, could you be a gentlemen and eloquently break down the specs on this Asus powerhouse monitor and possibly including where Asus went overboard??..--> 1:02 - 1:30

Perhaps, may we, humble youtube viewers, be christened to feast our undeserving eyes on two of your mighty PCs not leaving out the fan...... the stickers....and teabags?!! ---> 1:49

    :)

  • That monitor is 16:10 thats why it is still letterbox

  • That would be true for most movies (which are 16:9), but that movie on his screen is 2.39:1. It would have black bars on the screen on any monitor.

  • I just bought this monitor and I found that overdrive at 60 leavves ghosting and you must use 40.

  • You could have just gotten a pair of 22"-24" for the same price as one 25.5".

With a pair of monitors, you can have double the resolution of full HD.

  • you also have at least an inch of black line down the center - bad for movies, games, spreadsheets, and more

  • Can I connect PS3 on this ?

  • @87Odrim yesss

  • i have one but the 22 inch 3 inches can make a big ass diffrence lol

  • lolol loved your sense of humor about the screen freaking awesome and funny you gotta do more videos like this

  • My friend bought this monitor and the picture looks much better than what i see in this video

  • If you dont need the speakers and webcam. Why you didnt get the one that comes with those features? it would have cost lot cheap i got mines for $269.00

    Asus VW266H

  • Because when I got this this monitor, seven or months ago, this monitor was on sale. At that time it cost less than than what they wanted for the one you got.

  • lol big ass fan

  • is this monitor glossy? Thanks

  • um, you mean the screen? I think that looks kind of matte. Not sure what if there's a spec for that. The case is pretty glossy, but I guess you mean the screen...

  • i meant the monitor, where like the graphics and stuff is done on, the pictures i guess lol. If you can see your reflection when its turned off that means its glossy, its matte when you cant see your reflection

  • No reflection, definitely matte.

  • Yo bro I just ordered the cousin of this baby, the same thing except for no webcam. How bright is it out of the box? Do I have to turn it down to prevent bleed-in? First thing imma do is straight gaming so yeah.

  • I keep it in "game mode" and have brightness set down to 11 and contrast at 80, "sharpness" at 45, saturation at 50 and "overdrive" at 60. There's also a feature called "ASCR" (Asus Smart Contrast Ratio), which I think should be kept ON. And of course it looks best at native resolution.

It's not a high end monitor, I don't think the lcd is utterly opaque. But I'm very happy with the picture I'm getting on it now.

Best monitor for no light leak I ever had was a 15" Dell. Thing was perfect.

  • Yeah but it's also pretty damn cheap for a 26" I think.

Getting my alienware tomorrow so itll be hell waiting for the monitor...but oh well I need to get a desk anyway.

  • omggg LOL im getting teh VW266H (same thing just no webcam)

and imma have a damn orgasm playing wow and unreal tournament 3 on it, WITH my new PC LOL i wont be able to handle the epicness. im using a crappy 7600gs 1gb ram system with a 17" monitor LOl fail

  • got a big ass fan on the side there!!

  • you gotta get a 16:9 not 16:10 to get non letterbox xD

  • pro how to setup lifeframe2, itry hard and it said lifeframe runs on asus laptop only :(

  • Hahah awesome review!

  • lol this is a funny review dude :))

  • lolololololololololololol

    muahahahahhahahahahaha

    very helpfull?

  • hahaha, thats all I have to say

  • i bought this monitor today its so so amazing...i can just say buy it!

  • Splendid™ Video Intelligence Technology

Underpinning the ASUS VK266H and VW266Hs stunning visual performance is the exclusive Splendid™ Video Intelligence Technology which adjusts the displays parameters to ensure the best possible color and image reproduction based on the nature of the users current task. Its color engine analyzes the properties of video content being played back and optimizes image quality for the best visual results.

  • lol the way you made this review made me lol like a fucktard ! gj! XD imma get this monitor

  • Best Review Ever. Very chill. No Bs.

  • ha ha wall-e

  • that is the best review ive seen

  • lol

  • good review, no bullshit. just how i like it

  • The reason your monitor is letterboxed, is when you are watching 16:9 1080p HD content on a 16:10 1200p monitor the pixels are either stretched or letterboxed.

  • does this monitor kick ass?

  • I'm very happy with it.

  • LMAO =))

  • haha nice. I have the same Logitech keyboard and mouse as you do. On top of that i'm considering getting this Asus monitor.

  • Probably one of the best reviews I've watched. I was thinking about getting this monitor (model without the webcam) so that's why I looked it up.

  • lol nice video and I like this screen

  • Circulating the wealth :o

  • Awesome review. :D Congrats on the new monitor. =)

  • hey i think they have recently in india. Good going asus

  • Holy god man...I laughed my ass off through that entire review. Awesome...just awesome...no bullshit, I like it.

Buying this monitor (more crap I dont need) this weekend.

  • lol u have a g15 too? nice.

  • Nah it's a G11. Didn't want to mess with the lcd screen.

  • shoulda gotten the g15.

I like how you're straight forward with no bullshit. nice review.

  • Ive bought this screen to can u run 85 hz and 1080p ? on yours ?

  • Nah the quality is very good, better than with the old one.

I will say there is an option called ASCR (Asus Smart Contrast Ratio, apparently), in the Image section of the OCD menus, which definitely makes the picture look a lot better when it's set to ON.

  • do you notice any color shifting when looking at it dead on?

  • 60Hz at the native resolution. From 1440x900 on down, 60Hz and 75Hz. From 1024x768 on down, 60, 75 and 85Hz.

  • whats the refresh rate on it?

  • I would imagine it would be the standard 60hz.

You can expect a 120Hz monitor in April, according to CES 09.
