I fancy myself a sportbike rider, and I absolutely adore them (Hate harleys though, I think they look silly, make way to much noise and are slow), but in Norway (I'm 17) you can't drive anything above 50cc before you are 18. Unless you get a special drivers license so you can get a 125cc. Which I'm doing next year, and I'm getting a KTM 125cc supoermotard. What group am I part of ? And also, in Norway the "scooter people" is a "group" as well, where no one wave.

We wave in Norway. But all I have is a Yamaha TZR 50cc for the moment, as I'm only 16. Even if I have tricked it out a bit, and it does 110 kph, I'm not considered a real motorcycle guy so nobody waves at me. But for 125cc and up everybody waves at each other. I'm getting a 125cc next year so hopefully I'll experience some of the motorcycle community. And just as a side note, 50cc guys never wave at each other unless they know each other.

I've got a ninja 250r, and I've been riding for a long while now.

I don't upgrade it, I don't need to.

I like the style, I like the feel of riding, and I think it's cool - and if it's really the corporations that made me think it's cool, I honestly don't mind. It's fun, and if they found a way to market fun, props to them, someone did their job right and should pat themselves on the back.

I ride a Harley and i wave at everyone even scooters. I dont normally do that "cool guy harley wave" with your hand super low. I just do whatever comes to mind really. If i dont notice a bike until the last second and they wave i usually wave high up like im waving to a person. I hate when bikers dont wave back though. I mean i guess people arent looking sometimes. When I'm riding my Harley I get fewer waves from sport bikes than waves from HD riders when I'm on my Ninja. Not sure why the animosity, and frankly I don't care. I'm from N. Ireland and mostly we nod. I stick a leg out only to indicate to the rider behind that there is a hazard on the road respective to the side of the bike what leg I stick out. I wave the odd time or stick a thumb up if I like their style and or vehicle. I currently live in Spain where other bike users don't even give an acknowledgement, but that in my opinion is due to the simple fact that the Spanish respect nothing.
