@Mills117 $300 isn't a lot. A Systema is upwards of $1500 ( all U.S ) and Vulcan Mini Guns are usually from $4000-$6000. Tokyo Maruis are usually upwards of $500 as with Ares. KWA can get up as well as WE with guns up to $700. $300 is not a lot at all.

whats the best thompson to buy? - price, etc overall! Im looking at the king arms M1A1 Thompson. Its £260 when i inc. charger and battery, but the CYMA thompson is £160 with charger and battery. Any recommendations?

Most airsoft players have a lot of respect for the armed forces, and quite a few are armed forces past or present.

The "M" in M1A1 is similar to the Japanese "Type" or German "MP" or "MG".

M1A1 referred to many different weapons, and many other items, including helmets, bayonets and even ration packs.

The Japanese did a similar thing, with both Type 99 and Type 98 referring to tanks, guns and artillery pieces.

The Germans never did, each weapon had a different number, and the letter prefix described what it was (eg MP = Maschinenpistole).

It's exactly the same as M82A1 or M1911A1.

However, being that you Americans like confusing yourselves, you used the same designation for multiple (often unrelated) items.

What M1A1 stands for is Model 1, Alteration 1. For some reason the American military decided to call multiple items M1, and then followed the standard numbering procedure, leading to enormous confusion.

Especially since you dont realize that the 1 that follows the M most commonly stands for the year the model of weapon or product was produced or patented by the defence department or adopted by the armed forces. Such as the M1862 Gatling gun or the M1932 Garand when condensed it would be the M1 or M1A1 Garand since the garand was. Both of which are great firearms except for Mr Gatlings machine gun because it had a tendency to jam :/

@oSAMKIDo Plenty of shops in the UK sell extra magazines fro WW2 guns... General rule of thumb is that if a shop sells a gun, it will most likely sell compatible magazines as well.

@bandman232 Well im still learning Airsoft because im planning on going to one where i live with some friends, but from what ive looked up you wind it if you have a hi-cap magazine soo if you have a magazine that holds a lot of rounds then you have to wind that thing to reload it quickly

@bandman232 it because the mag are self armed, like it shoot 60 bbs, then you turn the little dile at the bottom of the mag, so you can shot another 60bbs, you repeat until you jave to change or fully reload the mag. :) hope this helps :)

@AwesomeSauce64 Not really, every site in the UK uses that kind of limit... 330FPS is just about perfect for an AEG, and the extra FPS for Sniper Rifles makes them a potent weapon in comparison to the AEGs.

And you can still have a specialised uber-reinforced high-speed gearbox (or whatever), you just whack in a lower power spring, which will in fact mean your investments last longer (less strain on the internals)
