@mistykatie Sounds like the board is not synced to the Wii. If you unplugged the console between the time you used the board last and now, that can happen occasionally. Try resyncing and if that doesnt work try new batteries. If after all that it doesnt work I'm not sure.
Thank you for suggesting this fix. It worked for me for a minute but then after testing it the board powered down and wouldn't turn back on again. All I did was disassemble the board, play with the power button a little bit until it came on, checked the connections (solders).
@docrivs If you get power then it's not a wiring issue. The balance board can take alot of damage and not damage the internal circuitry. Definitely check the battery terminals for corrosion. The fact that power is spotty could mean dead batteries or corrosion which is a common problem with the boards. a tiny bit of fine steel wool or a good sponge on the battery terminals should help.
@holly13000 is the board synced to the Wii? Get it really close to the Wii to be sure. Make sure nothing is blocking line of sight (even though I have things blocking line of sight between the board and Wii with no problems). If it still blinks maybe the batteries are low or there is another issue. Take it apart and check it out, it's fun to figure these things out sometimes.
We had same problem with a balance board that just wouldn't power on at all. It had been caused by a leaking Duracell battery (those batteries that aren't supposed to leak!). Although all the battery compartment contacts were cleaned, acid had somehow travelled to the multiway connector that attaches to the battery and reset button board and there was corrosion between three of the solder joints. I cleaned this off with a small point and my toothbrush and all is now good. :)
FYI another thing that you can do when you take the feet of the board is to clean the two metal plates - the domed one in the foot itself and the dish shaped one in the Wii Fit board base unit. Then add a little drop of WD40 or oil or grease and you will fix any creaks or squeaks you may get. Definitely worth the effort!! Great video thanks.
Go Kirkland Batteries! Woop Woop! Fucking Costco, man! I love that place, except for when there are the families of more than two there. Noisy, messy people.

No idea why but it worked. thanks.
