I like Mortal Kombat better, SF is fun and all, but no good, interesting background story. Just the fighters are there, because they are there!

Every MK character has a story of their past life, stories that are interesting.

And another interesting feature of them........FATALITIES!!!!!! Slow motion is nice and all.....but those death cries get retarded, and annoying as hell.

Street fighter mostly has better music[ through its history over MK]

Only thing MK has thats better is their announcer, possibly story line[but who cares for story line in a fighting game?].

Nobody plays mortal kombat in tournaments, yet every single street fighter game can be played in tournaments. MK also has better backgrounds[stages]

But that's about it, when it comes to game play..street fighter is easily better.

And also I'd like to note... a lot of the earlier MK games looked stiff.

I don't see how people think mortal kombat is better.

Combos in street fighter are harder to do, the mechanics of the game are more fluent[ most of the newer mk's are choppy and bulky].

Most MK fans will bring up things that make Mk better that has nothing to do with game play[i.e: the gore]

Compare Street Fighter III: New Generation Or Second Impact to Mortal Kombat 4[both came out11997]

Even though Those games were inferior to the latter street fighter III, it's still better than MK by a lot.
