I want one so bad :( And to skyesthelimit, they don't just magically contract rabies. If they are domesticated they are generally vaccinated against rabies. To contract rabies they have to be directly exposed to it via a bite from another infected animal or contact with mucosal droplets of an infected animal. Its not like rabies just drops out of the sky.

Not only are you doing yourself harm by keeping that animal as a pet, you're also harming the animal without meaning to. Raccoons one of the most common rabies vector species. Rabies is fatal and easily contracted. You are also imprinting the animal and sentencing him to a life of confusion and distress. Here's a link to a website where you can search for a wildlife rehabilitator. I highly recommend that you speak with one and get yourself to a doctor.

@soap1st You should look up what imprinting is. When you take a wild animal that is very impressionable as an infant it imprints itself on you, a human. When that happens the animal itself believes that it is a human. For the animal that is not only confusing, but highly frustrating. When the animal reaches sexual maturity and begins looking for a mate, it looks for a member of its own species, which under it's own assumption is another human. Dangerous for the human & animals.

@skyesthelimitt actually that would be bats. Raccoons are one of the least likely animals to carry rabies. But one of the most likely to transfer to humans because they have more contact with people than bats. Common misconception. And rabies is only fatal if it isn't treated.
