  • how the F does 1=5

  • 3125, easy !

  • @anonyme329 watch the ending of the vid he says that it is not correct

  • i got it so easy you idiots i didnt even look at the answer it 1

  • 3,125

  • Very easy!!!

    It's 3'125!!!

  • pffft 1

    what a stupid question .-.

  • 5 = 5 Dont mind the other numbers

  • Comment removed

  • 1 = a number (5 is a number)

    2 = a number (25 is a number)

    3 = a number (125 is a number)

    4 = a number (625 is a number)

    Thus, 5 = a number

  • Its powers of 5. Thats simple.

  • @Froppindroppin Nope!

  • if 1=5 at the start, then, 5 should be equal to 1!

  • 5 = 2! You said so!

  • so your just doing exponets

  • 3125.

    1= 5 =5

    2= 5x5 = 25

    3=5x5x5 = 125

    4=5x5x5x5 = 625

    5=5x5x5x5x5 = 3125

  • @paulmason7 watch the end of the video.

  • 5= -2,5... 5 =5 ?

  • most complicated thing ever

  • 5^5

  • I have just seen the solution, it's a nice "trick" but its not correct :(

    First I have to say that 1 cant be mathematicly 5 so we avoid maths, that means when u say 1 = 5 ..... 5 doesnt have to be 1 because WE AVOID MATHS ...

    Let me explain by an example :

    First u say an apple is a fruit (1=5)

    Then u say all fruits are apples ....? (5=1) ?? I think NOT !

    But its a nice trick for people who cant think logically :)

  • @phtmexplo 1 can be 5, for example in modular arithmetics. And the "=" sign is commutative.

    Anyway, I start the problem with an "if", don't I? ;-)

  • he said 5=2 at 0.47 SPOILER!

  • gayboard

  • After comments i fell im a itdot cos i was trying to work it out....

  • 5=1

  • ok this is dumm

  • it's1 lol...easy. at first it says 1 = 5, which means 5 = 1 :D

  • easy , it's 1, you told it in the begining !!

  • 3125

  • 3125

  • If you think 1=5, then you are stupid. But to represent what you are saying mathematically correct, I will add a variable. So, what we are doing is using x as an exponent. Figuring, that every number is now, actually, being an exponent in 5 to represent what it actually is. 5^1=5 5^2=25 5^3=125 5^4=635 5^5>1 But there is no variable, therefore you are a lie. And saying 1=5 is not a problem, it is incorrect. 5 does not=1, and 1 does not=5. 1=1, and 5=5.
  • 5=5..

    5=2+3 no big deal

  • 1 in your problem

  • @illustriouschin You're a genius!

  • @TyYann Easy now, Math Guy, flattery will get you everywhere!

  • @TyYann i think the answer is either 5 = 5 or 5 = 1

  • 5=5 !

  • The answer is one

  • your doughters wight board is very nice

  • Lol its 1

  • i'm guessing the answer is 5 = 1 ?

  • always time 5 ?

  • ^^ 5= 1!

  • hey ahh TyYann , wanna buy me on of those boards :O !!!!

  • is it 3092?

  • @DOminik962 Check the solution!

  • @DOminik962 noi 3125

  • @DOminik962 no. 3125

  • 3125

  • 5 = 5 and don't let anyone else tell you different! =D

  • 3125

  • Error try agian

  • i wish you were my maths teacher :)

  • really confusing for people who dont know, it's simply powers

    2=25 =25x25

    3=25 =25x25x25

    ans so on, simple if you know

  • if 1 =5 than 5=1 its so obvious!

  • 15625

  • Aw man...

  • 625*5=3125

  • x5 each time ..

  • Pfft times 5 times the last one? :D

  • You can't change the meaning of a symbol, that's ambiguous and arbitrary.

    At first, an equal sign meant you take the number on the left and multiply 1 by 5 that many times. In other words, if x = y, then y is 5^x.

    Then you changed the meaning of the equal sign to actually mean "equals to".

    Based on your previous examples, that is not the case.

    Seriously, this problem is like asking someone to "Type this sentence."

    It is ambiguous. Is the answer "this sentence" or "Type this sentence"?

  • @Alfaris Sorry if you did not like this problem. Next ones are more math and less of a "trick"

  • @Alfaris hawwin 3lek ya rajol ...

  • @agent47kindalikedude

    Type "xkcd words that end it GRY" in Google, then click on the first result. That comic pretty much sums up my feelings.

    I'm not really mad at this video in particular, it just kinda built up as time went on. Besides this video, I like this guys videos so I subscribed. It's all good brah

  • 5 5=5 how can 5 be another number -.-

  • I noticed the patterm whem I saw 2=25. Its just powers like this: 5 to the power of 2 =25. So simple but yet complicating.

  • @AssassinaterSly Except that the answer is not 3125...

  • 5=5 haha

  • it'd be much better if it actually made mathematically sense.

  • 1125?

  • its 2 he says 5=2

  • if I'm correct it's gotta be 1...

    if 1=5 then 5 must equal 1, right?

  • yeah, 5=1, he said it doesn't require knowledge above middle school! and i like the board XD

  • But no one's better than Winnie the Pooh, don't be ashamed of your board. I'd like to have if it wasn't pink.

  • ..lol that's dumb if 1=5 5=1 l...lol????

  • nice board! a portable one is very useful xP

  • 5=1

    next question

  • Next question's online... ;~)

  • 1!!! u said in the description no knowledge of math beyond middle school the answer is 1!!!!!!! (i hope im right though there cld be some trick) but im 95% sure its 1

  • I sense a trick here, but I'm not sure of the answer. Gonna say either:

    5 = 5 (that's most likely I think)

    or it could just be 5 = 1, although I think that seems too obvious.

  • i think 5 =1

  • 1 does not equal 5

  • FAILLLL

  • This is silly. The answer he is looking for is 1.

    He said 1=5 therefore 5=1.

  • Oh yeah and you're a girl for using that board.

  • I don' get it :P

    really.

  • Ooh, I don't think I've heard of this if it isn't the obvious answer...

  • Haha, I know!

  • I'm now sharing it about, and put it on my page.

    Your board is for little girls! You girl.

  • what is the answer? lol its driving me insane, its gotta be 3125???

  • wats the answer

  • I really like this one. I've used this on my students and it always gets a laugh when I tell them the answer.

  • Yes. I though it would be a good start for my math problems series.
