  • I have a 1980s kit waiting to be built, and I wanted to make it electric...but I need more than 2-3 minutes flight time. I think this is one of the best seaplanes ever. I've had two of these, I loved "flying the lake" at on-step speed, then using rudder inputs to "power slide" all over the place. Never seen another plane do this. Fly on!!

  • You could probably get 10+ minutes of flight time with an electric version, but you'll need more than a 3200mah pack; probably a bank of three of them running in parallel. Also, you'd probably want to add lots of lightening holes while your building it- this is what they do with the Neptune ARF (Seamaster clone.) Very light and strong airframe.

  • I used Axi 2826-10 and a 50A esc altho only pulling about 35A. It had a 14" electric prop, probably 6-8" pitch. It flew fine on 3S 3200 pack, but only for 2-3 minutes. I have not tried a bigger pack yet as I will fly it as a glowie next, but its been delayed because they have blocked off my flying lake from the river, and the salt levels are rising and I don't want my gear to get wet.

  • Now I know what to expect. I have maidened mine on electric power, and on wheels at the field. But I just need to break in the engine, and swap power pods to hit the lake. Your clip has given me a hurry-up! Thanks.

  • What motor and ESC are you using? I am close to finishing mine and am thinking of using electric power on it.
