The apple IIC was extremely expensive even by today's standards for the computing power it has. My dad had a Woz special edition Apple. I don't remember when he bought it but I think it was around 1985. It was like a $6,000 computer, I think. Now, my iphone probably has more computing power that that did. It certainly has more memory.
Indeed..! My nokia 6101 has more memory and it doesn't have much memory at all by todays standards.
The one thing that's truly great about the apple ][ I think is that in trying to save money, Woz designed it without the helper chips that most other computers had and did just about everything in software.
Consequently, you could learn about how any part of a computer might work just from reading the firmware.
That design would have ended up killing it had apple not pulled the plug tho.

My 6 year old son is autistic & is very good with computers, he now has his own logon name & password at school as he had remembered the teachers!
He cant write his name & isnt able to converse, so we are amazed he can type.
I think we will continue to encourage his love of computers :)
