The surgeon lanced it on Wednesday and I felt so much better. Bled through my gauze pads, packing, underwear, and my sweatpants. Good thing the Dr. told me to sit on a thick towel. I have to get it repacked daily, although I had no pain since I was on antibiotics a few days, so the infection must have decreased. The nurse was amazed I wasn't in any pain. She said most people are inflamed and in pain. I guess the key is to get the antibiotics in quickly. Good luck to you all.
I had it this and last week. This is my 3rd time having it, and it was the WORST one. The first 2 times I was able to pop it out myself after a long shower. Decorated my bedroom the first time! This Monday, I went to the Urgent Care center, and the Dr. opened it up and supposedly drained it and prescribed me antibiotics. The drain hole closed up that night and the pressure built up again, giving me intense tenderness and pain. Tuesday I called a surgeon. Read the next posting for more on this.
I had on, but what they did was completely different for me. I chose to be put under completely, cause the whole having a local thing scared me. I was only 18 (now nearly 30) and because my dad was military and I lived so far away from the military hospital (where I had it done) they just sewed me up. Six hours later I was allowed to go home, worst mistake ever trying to survive a 2 hour car trip six hours after surgery.
I had one.. I still have the scar. I went into the ER after waking up Easter morning and not being able to sit down. I was in so much pain they put me out for it though.. I had to have it packed and now there's a pocket that I'll have to explain to whoever sees my ass.
I had one, but it discharged by itself, and before it popped, it was like a freaking knife in my ass..kinda like you said. But once it broke open oh whew...was it relief...anyway I never had the scary surgery and years later it healed over..just a depression in the area..btw you are cute :-)
i had that done almost a year ago and i can feel it coming back. it hurts a little when i sit down but i already know its gonna get worse like last time. im so TRAUMATIZED by the first time i went that i cry just thinking about it. im scared to tell my mom because its the worst and most uncomfortable pain you can feel ! ahh im so scared to go again because the first time the injection they put didnt numb ANYTHING at all. :'(
@Pg13Baby dun worry just tell ur mother and make it happen ...there are injections in the market like ur lower body will completely go numb and you cannot even move it..of course they are expensive however no pain
Guys, no need to be embarrassed about it. The same thing happened to me a couple of days ago. The doctors see naked bodies (especially old people's) and gory wounds every day, so they're used to it.
They gave me full anesthetics, so I never felt a thing, and it never really hurt since the surgery. The only bad thing is that I have to clean the hole myself, and even put the little tissues inside of it, twice a day xD And it f*ed up my holidays!!!
my daughter just had it done and also was in pain but got pain killers, its taking 3 months to close up as the longer they leave it open the better the chance of it not recurring,, and we never want it back, they change dressing every week and i have to clean and change it daily,, its not a nice job,,, and its more on the tail bone than in the ass, and would not wish it on my worst enemy
I love the way you explaned the story.I found. It funny yet it was terrible that you had to go through this. Yes an don't take 10 tyneol and codine. Good luck
i had it too :( 3cm x 2xm cut above my but crack..before the operation i was dress in blue "hospital" or wathever after the operation i realize thay change my dress,im imbarassed -sort of-
thanks misshazy for sharing your outrageously REAL experience with this horrific world of pain & disgust that I never knew existed-til 2wks ago. the worst thing is there was nowhere to turn for help-even my dr. said she did't have 'time to talk about it'! Your video made me laugh, cry & feel not SO ALONE!-oh, & decide NO SURGERY FOR ME!! (& it's NOT caused by being unclean, you morons out there!)
By the way people this cyst can be formed when you are in your mother womb because you grow front to back and hair can be folded inside causing your body to form a cyst around the hair. I'm in college to become a nurse and since I had this surgery done we are talking about in my class so don't say it's because you sit on your ass or over weight or dirty those can be a factor but it's most likely you formed it as a fetus.
To get in infection so they had my mom pack it up to 3 times a day ever time she took it out it felt like my insides were being ripped out. I finally got my wound vac today it is healing pretty good I have 4 centimeters deep 3 centimeter wide and 2 centimeters long. The wound vac also hurts but not as bad. But it is super embarrassing having to walk around with this machine that is hooked up to your butt suckin out the drainage and people can see what is being sucked out. I'd rather have what y
Ok so I had surgery to remove mine march 17th you think that's bad. My cyst was above my butt they went in through my butt crack went up to the cyst removed all of it and the tissue surrounding it. Then the went down close to my butt hole to see if there was a cyst down there which there wasn't. They stitched me up and sent me home after I woke up so I had stitches from the top of my crack to the very top of my butt hole. About 2 weeks went by and I had ripped the stitches out causing me to get
Just had the full blown surgery for my cycst 2 days ago they glued it instead of packing it can nearly sit hurts so bad I wish I would of just not had the surgery
I know your pain, i had an abceess 3 times now and i think it may be comming back in the same spot as you, and it feels like someone took a huge dagger and stabbed you with it. Im glad it heeled up fine, and crossing my fingers it wont appen to ya again, cause i wouldnt wish it on anyone.. And for all you people, get your facts straight its not from sitting around to much, if you only had it , you would realize how bad it really is, your just assholes, who desperately needs a life.. :@
@101bojangels Oh yeah, it's that simple alright, because everyone who's ever had one doesn't wash their ass. *rolls eyes* How about go back to jacking off to videos of draining pus.
i will always remember this poor guy they took out 1 liter of pus from is abscess . The poor guy had a crater of hole on his butt . Took my an hour to do the dressing he was in so much pain
i had a pilonidal removed TWICE over 2 months january of 2007. both times, less than halfway through the local anesthetic completely wore off. after being bedridden for 3 months because i couldnt sit down OR wear a belt (hence, no pants) everything was free and clear. it came back in force mid last year. fun times.
I know how you feel, I had to go to the emergency room for my abscess. Let's say my abscess was in a worse place then yours was. When they numb it, its like the worst pain I've ever felt in my life!
After your surgery, did it heal fast or slow? And has it ever shown up again?
I had surgery for a pilonidal cyst about 6 months ago, and my experience was very different! I had a scheduled surgery where they put me under, removed the cyst, and then had me come back to the office every couple weeks to check on it, shave the area, occasionally cauterize it to speed the healing, etc.. It was not very painful except for the first few days after the surgery, but they gave me oxycodone for that anyway. Find a good doctor and you will not have that bad of an experience!
I DEFINETLY KNOW HOW IT FEELS LIKE! UR ABSOULTELYRIGHT! A couple of years ago i discovered this lump on my natal cleft.Didnt bother to go to the hospital bcuz it was a small n didnt know what it was Last month i was starting having this CRAZY ASS PAIN.it was swelled n redish.i touched it , this possy liquid came out.BOY DID THAT STINK! After waiting 9 HOURS in the hospitalThey said i have PILONIDAL SINUS.mini surgery was done, every 2 days changing the dressing(PAINFUL) NOW SURGERY 31-01-2011!
Ok guys im studying pionidal cyst/abcess this session (im not english btw)
- The first thing that i wanted to say is if you got one and its not HURTING then ill sugest to not do the operation cause it will be useless, i know a friend that got one for over 20 years.
- I personnaly got one its been like 6 months since i noticed, it hurted like 2-3 days but then i popped it, since then everyday im taking a shower and pass 5 minutes to nail my ass with a soap and a "serviette", and its working
@yankirules No , it isn't working.I have a small one right now that I am going to have taken care of in a couple of days. It does not go away , but it does fluctuate. See a doctor now before it gets any worse. That is exactly what I am doing. Mine also went "dormant" for 6 months. And then it came back. every time it does this it will grow. Don't kid yourself. See a doctor now! Spare yourself what this girl went through. It will happen.
I had this done just over 2 weeks ago under general anaesthetic. The first 3 packings for me were the worst things I have ever experienced, never had pain like it! But it does get easier every time. I recommend you take a bath with a little salt in before having the dressing removed, it keeps things clean and eases the pain. Any idea on the length of time it takes to heal? My wound was around 5-6cm when it was first done, and after 2 weeks is around 3cm.
I first got my cyst in october and got it drained and I healed rly fast after the packing was taken out. Then 2 months later dec 21st I had surgery and the surgery plus recovery lasted about 2 hours. And I was put out. And all day I haven't felt any pain and I only took one of the pain pills which wears off fast. F that cyst tho forreal, this rly put a damper on my week
@xStevieVentura It's usually down to the infection of a hair follicle, or if the coccyx takes a lot of wear and tear from sitting for long periods like lorry drivers ect are prone to them.
I grow at my butt cheek and it's the worst pain I ever had..even when I give birth the pain still lose to having this on my butt..I m much luckier..my doc is a young n cute one who joke with me make me feel comfortable..and I got very strong painkiller to stop d pain
hey i dunno about the pain.....well it really feels weird when a 60 year old dude in a white coat grabs my ass........there wasnt any pain for me...lol...well it hurts tho...my ego that is...and hey did you take any medicine to numb the pain while you were healing? cuz they gave me some...and thats why i think it doesnt hurt....and also...can i go for social events with my butt wrapped up in cotton?...have you had cases of a bleeding butt? after the excision?
ok so i had this surgery like 2 weeks ago and i'm getting the stitches taken out on monday. do you have any suggestions with pain because this thing kills.
@dgpcostello You've got to have it removed, or it'll eventually get infected and burst on it's own, then you'll have an annoying hole that drains puss all day to deal with. Besides, the longer you wait the bigger and more painful it'll get, and it'll take even longer to heal. It's important to leave it open after you've had it removed so it can heal properly, otherwise it is likely to come back.
Great video. I had a lancing and drainage (not excision) but that was SOOOO painful it's not even funny. Whoever said it felt like someone was murdering your ass was right on. I screamed during both the pre-lancing numbing process, and screamed the entire time during my first packing... I don't know if I can do it again. It's like someone's cutting into you with a razor blade with no anesthesia. It's sooo bad.
I'm having the actual surgery on the 29th, where they remove the skin right there and go all the way down to your butt bone, or whatever it's called and remove all the bacteria from that area :/ If you didn't have that done, they will keep coming back, This is my 3rd time having it. Yeah it sucks.
I've been dealing with this bitch for some time. Had two surgeries. The supersrs kind where they put yo ass to sleep to do it. The first time flopped but my recent second (and open) surgery is more deeper than the first. Hoping it works..
And it really does feel like, every time the packing is changed (daily!), like my ass is being murdered. It hurts more than surgery did. They gave me Percocet, but it doesn't help.
I love this video. It's precisely how I feel. Thank you. I laughed, I cried.
well... deep breath at first i was terrafide it was cancer. i only have one its been there bout a year now i guess its leaked out twice kinda a bloody and clear pussy fluid. it doesnt hurt as much as ive read it does to some people ( the sinus and cyst itself) but i am going to the doctor in two days to find out my options. i really dont wanna a huge hole in my back.
i have actually got 1 now i can hardly sit dwn i have had it like 3 times already went through stages of packing it healed niceley now its back again can my life get any worse
@magika77 Depends on what you're having done. If they don't put you to sleep you will have local anesthetic, but you still might feel it. It totally depends on how much it's currently infected and how well you tolerate pain.
The worst pain for me was when they removed the wound packing the first day after, not the surgery itself, although that did hurt.
@magika77 The surgeon said they couldn't use anesthesia because of the infection. It wouldn't work. So he froze it. He dripped some stuff on it to freeze it. It hurt with a little stinging. Then I didn't feel a thing. Of course when he was pushing down on my cyst to get the puss out of it, that hurt the most. I did feel the remnants of that. Don't be afraid. The doctor told me without getting it out, it's poison to your body and you know what poison can do. Be brave.
Maby this year I´m going to take away this shit cyst/abscess. Byt I´m starting too get nervus (spelling?!) I´m gooing to the doctor the 14t sep. They are going too give me information about the surgery.. I want, i don´t want, i want, i don´t want.. that is my words in my head.
Thanks for posting this. I have had a pilonidal cyst for about 10 years and it has grown and shrank over that time. I had the draining area cut open about 3 years ago which relieved the pressure. I still have it and it sucks. Watching some of these videos scared the hell out of me with 8 inch deep holes and other crazy healing times... months. Sorry you had to deal with this. I'll be right there sometime. Thanks for the chance to empathize.
Ok so I've had 2 of these and the first one busted on its own and went away so I waiting for this one I have (my 2nd) to bust. Do you still think I should go to the doctor?
Guys which one is worst pilonidal sinus or pilonidal cyst? I think i've got pilonidal sinus, i'm not exactly sure which one it is but i'm sooo scared. It's not painful but there is a discharge from the area usually when i lay on my back or do sit-ups. It smells really bad as well. Do you have to stay over night in the hospital for the operation? I don't want my parents or anyone in my family to find out.
I had one a pilonidal cyst a few years ago. It was enormous and I actually had to be put under for surgery. These basically described it to me as if they opened my but like a pair of french doors. I now have a 5 inch scar on my back side and my crack starts a few inched lower then it should. They put the cyst in a jar for me to see and it was slightly larger then a golf ball. GROSS!! I hope I never have one of them again.
sun of a bitch, well i have one of these pilonidal cyst, im like you, i knew what it was when i got it, just been alil nervous of the surgery. it dosent hurt that much just uncomfortable, but after watching all the vids.......its gonna be hell, but i gotta do it, im tired of being scared/insecure of someone seeing my ass. but thanks for explaining it like with the rusty knife lol makes me feel awsome.
I had two, one on my buttcrack and the other one in my crotch area. What hurt for me was when they were numbing it, that was the real pain. When they did the incision on my butt I barely felt a thing, but then they got the one on my crotch and that one hurt like hell, but they didn't have to pack that one. I don't have to get it repacked but I dunno when I go back to have it taken out, it didn't hurt when they packed it. Will it hurt when they take it out? I hope not.
SHHIIIITTTT!!...i think i have this!!! dude im ganna get it checked out right away but im scared IF it is, i dont wanna have surgery! omfgzz im crying while typing this!!! D:
I had the same thing removed last week Friday. I was told to change the dressing twice daily. Stupid me thought they meant the dressing outside of the hole but they meant the iodoform packing (the strip that they put inside the hole). Yesterday I was called back and they pulled the packing out which didn't hurt but replacing it did. I watched your video before I had the cyst removed. Before yesterday, I was thinking, "What pain? Why'd they give me vicodin?" Now I know why. Sleeping sucks now.
@shoekstra1419 i had the same thing.. just go get it checked asap. it formed about 2 weeks ago and i got surgey and im already back on my..uh... butt xD
I had my pilonidal abscess drained bout 1 month ago. It was the most excruciating pain i've EVER felt in my life. After 800mg Ibuprofen, 500mg
Vicodin, 3 Morphine shots, AND local anesthetic the doc still had to stop about 4 times because i was in so much pain!
The packing hurt just as much, bt i learned to get used to it after the 3rd time. The packing is finally out n im just healing, bt i hav an apptmt next week for surgery. i hope its not as bad cus.. really.. i'd rather die! Any advice

i had this for 15 days.....it was too painful. I had surgery got it removed. Kepy it open its still open and recovering. Its 1 month now and the wound is 75% healed up and i have no pain thankgod.
Mine burst on its own. That was not fun. But looking back I guess I'm one of the lucky ones, I really feel for you guys who have had bad experiences with surgery.
what do u suggest for a 14 year old girl that might have the same problem, im really scared and embarrased to even talk to my mom about it...its gone away like 2 times but its come back again. i also wonder if this runs in my family or if its my weight thats affecting it.
i even tried putting baby powder on it and the only time im comfortable is when im laying down. should i consider this surgery even though im really young??
@kurenai106 Even though it's embarrassing to talk about/deal with, it's better to deal with it now than to wait. I know it's super embarrassing... I didn't want anyone even LOOKING back there, even though they're doctors! :P But if you DO have an abscess and it gets really infected, it might burst on its own, and that would not be fun for you. So, it's best to at least go to your doctor and discuss it with them, and they will assess it.
@misshazy when you say , ASSESS IT..IS THAT SOME KIND OF PUN? ASS ESS..LOL LOL..anyways these things do hurt..im a trucker and i just had one pop on me while i was on the road.. puss and blood oozed out.. feel ok today. I dont like seeing doctors.
@kurenai106 no it's not hereditary however the shape of skin over the tail bone is and that shape can have a big impact in if you get them or not. go tell your mum, the longer you leave it the worse it will get and it can be very very very very serious! your weight does have an impact and so does the amount you sit down. in WWII they called it jeep seat. so yes please tell your mum and go see a Dr
@kurenai106 I had a pilonidal cyst removed 2 years ago. You def need to go to the dr and get a referral to a surgeon ASAP. After the first time the cyst forms, every time there after, it will tunnel into the surrounding tissue and only get worse. Trust me, i waited until the 4th time it happened and finally went and by the time my surgery came around it had tunneled UNDER my tailbone and 3 inches up my back. You need to get the sac completely removed, not just drained.
@kurenai106 Not sure if you've done anything yet, but I highly recommend having it removed. Yes it does come back if you don't treat it right the first time (I know from experience). The first time I had the cyst removed, they stitched it up after. It healed up quick but came back a year or so later. The second time they left it open and I packed it with gauze regularly, and it hasn't been back since. So learn from my mistake and leave it open to heal.
@dane7902 yes an if you get it removed be sure to keep it site clean. Trust me i just had this done 2 weeks ago and mine got infected so now i have to sport a stylish little wound vac for 4 to 8 weeks which is basically they stick a tube in the wound and it sucks up all of the fluid. and by the way, it hurts REALLY bad when they put it in and when they change the sponge in it.
I had surgery done years ago (98). My incision still hurts! It pulls when I sit for a long time, it's STILL tender. Not to mention the scar it left. I wish I would have NEVER had the surgery!
@beautyinsadness Strange, my scar is fine, just itches once and a while. Maybe something went wrong in the healing process? I think you're better off not having the cyst anymore though, it just gets worse and worse over time.
hi, i'm suffering with my first pilonidal sinus. My wound had closed, then another opened just underneath, then that closed and the main wound has re opened!! Pain in the ass or what! i totally sympathise with you, i was glad i had the surgery and wasn't awake when they did the exicion. Have you had any problems with healing? Good video, i can deffinately relate. Take Care :-)
i just had abscess drainage yeaterday.....I've never craid so hard like that in my life. And this morning i had the packing done from my wound....they could even finish the packing cause of the pain. ='(
will taking ibuprophen will before packing to relieve some of the pain?
I'm scheduled to go back to the doc to continue on with the surgery
@mekeda05 Aww, that sucks! Taking ibuprofen might help a little, though if you can, try something stronger than that. The first time when they change the packing is the worst, and then after that it surprisingly does get easier and less painful. I hope it'll get better for you soon!
I had a pilonidal cyst removed a while back and it wasn't anything near the B.S. they put you through. Yes it hurt like hell when he shot me with the local & was digging around in the wound with a probe to break the cyst loose. He got the core so it probably won't come back. He packed the wound & gave me a script of vicodin. I kept the packing in for a week then my Doc removed it & told me to use maxi pads for the drainage & that was all there was to it
I found out that I have a pilonidal cyst. It's about the size of my thumb. I'm really scared. They gave me hydrocodine but I really don't want to go through that procedure. How long did it take for it to completely heal? I was just hoping they were going to drain it but they told me the procedure exactly how you explained it and I was too scared to get it done because I've had another type of cyst before and I know how badly it felt to get it drained.
@avasquack I was really, REALLY freaked out about the surgery. But if you do it, your chances of it coming back are reduced. It's definitely not fun, but it's not the worst thing that could ever happen & you'll make it through. I had the wound packed for 4 weeks & they let the rest of it heal itself after that. I'm not sure how long it took, it didn't matter to me as much when the wound wasn't being packed everyday! Anyway, take care & good luck if you decide to go through with it.
@misshazy I got it done last night. The whole isn't too big. I was really freaked out though. No lie I cried ha. The bad part about it was the needle. After everything was finished I just layed there for awhile. They told me I'd be out of sports for awhile though.
@avasquack Aw, well you made it through the surgery, congrats! That's good the hole isn't too big. Hopefully it'll heal fast then & won't come back! :)
I had mine stiched rather than packed. Was walking like John Wahyn for two weeks put back in the gym on the fith week. Its one of those things that people hope will just go away but anyone who has it really need to get it removed A.S.A.P because of infection.
@Kalgoorlie10 Very true that it's got to be fixed quick. You're lucky it didn't come back though: mine came back after it was stitched up, so I had to have it removed again but laid open to heal instead. That was four years ago and I haven't had a problem since, thank God!
I'm just looking at the date this was posted and assuming it's been about six months since your treatment? I was just wondering if you've had recurrence since then..?
I'm going to have to get this done and I've been reading some personal stories, and there are a lot of people who have had the cyst come back time and time again after treatment like yours, so I'm a bit worried :(
@xWeexMoOx No I haven't had a recurrence since. Sometimes it feels sore if I sit on it directly for a long time, but it hasn't become infected again. Thankfully. Good luck with your operation! I hope it doesn't come back for you.
@Buttcop It smelled bad because it's a cyst. Wash all you want, but if you get one of these anywhere on your body, the stuff that comes out will smell bad.
You have a good sense of humor. I seriously hope you are pursuing a career in writing, especially comedy. You have the ability to make your pain relative to the average person on the street...which is a gift. Take care miss hazy, and keep writing! Trust me, you got it. Later, Stellar.
Thank you for the Video, I have this too and have to get the dressing changes everydAY AND it really sucks alot. so thank you for sharing this video so I know I am not the only one going through this pain and it sucks balls. I hope to God it never comes back. p.s. they put me to sleep for my surgery, thank God.
Idk what I have. I'm 13 and have this little pea sized hole that is on the top of my butt crack. Idk what to do about it. Its bleeds rarely. 2-3 times a week. Should I go to the doctors? Or can I resolve this problem by myself. I have managed for 1 month with this hole thing.
Sounds like you have a pilonidal sinus and it's draining itself. When you have a pilonidal sinus (the hole), you usually won't get a painful lump, but you should go get it checked by your doctor just to make sure everything is alright and to go thru your options of managing it.
Oh GIRL, I feel for you! I had one removed almost 2 years ago now. They put me to sleep, thank GOD. I can't imagine being awake for that! I think the worst thing about it, after researching it, was finding out that it normally happens to big, hairy men. That made me feel awesome, being a young woman of 25... thanks for posting this, you're very funny, and you make me feel a little more normal. :)
Me 2 , i had a pilonidal infection , i was in surging pain and , well to describe it , like my white pants were all red,the doctors did the surgery with full anesthasia and to make it more worse after the surgery and PAIN they had to keep the wound OPEN for 3-5 weeks , daily dressing change .. and after 6 months i got the same thing again and had another surgery and it could have gone for a hatric but some doctor gave me the best solution ever "SIDS BATH" saved my ass *Literally" lol cheer up
hello.there...i know there so discusting trust me ive had 3 surgeries..since ive been 15...i felt so disgusted when my doctor told me...yes they are very pain full..its been a yr since my last surgery ive always been put to sleep and felt nothing and i think its coming back again..im so tired of it..ugh....
did your apendix birst fromt he Dr. ? or ? I had the abscess really really close to my but hole had the dr. finger moving around and i was like at least she was good looking lol
I totally agree with the whole stabbed in the butt ten times, I was under 3 times the local anesthetics and I still felt it all. I loved watching your video, I could relate to a lot of it...except the appendix thing, I haven't had that.
Did they give you the option of straffing it and draining? Because mine has no openings and the swelling has gone down 90%. I cant bring myself to do the "full op" where they cutt it out and let the wound heal itself inside out. Does the straffing and drainage work? and did they remove the pouch or cutt it out with the tissue around it? Any info sites you can recommend?
god bless you for the post. I've had mine for a while now and I see the infamous Cyote hole and i get goose bumps
@kuzak20 agreed on the cyote hole that kids got some balls man ive had mine drain itself twice now i belive ( bled out) and im going to a doc in 2 days .. i dont want the whole ..draining would be ok. i hear u can get it from truama that could be my prob. also i heard some can get it treated with antibiotics is thattrue?
@carpenotctum Yeah, its seriously the lamest thing in the world. I have researched it infinitely and came to various conclusions:
a) every doctor will give you a different answer as to why it's there (hair, gene malfunction etc etc) and that nobody can sincerely give you a 100% straight answer, since everything is "Theoratical".
b) Doctors priomal interes is for you to get surgery = money for them. Was told to not even try straffing and simply do the op
@carpenotctum You should check the "Swiss" method. Though my cyst hasn't been swollen since a year and im not touching it untill it swells again, there is a professor in switzerland that has a new method to operating (no massive hole.). They simply make a small incision (Penny size) on two ends, and pull the cyst pouch out by gradually detaching it from the tissue and not butchering it out as is common practice. You can walk and sit the next day again and within 2 weeks its FULLY healed.
@carpenotctum Most doctors dont know about this (nobody in hospitals here in germany) but I would recommend researching doctors near you who can do it. The recurrance factor by using this method is 15% which is only 3% higher than the conventional method of removing Skin,Cyst-Tissue leaving a massive 3-5 inch hole on your butt crack. Dont know about you, but for 3% difference I'd chance it.
To my knowledge there is no medicine for it as its technically "your own body" that its fighting.
Im getting mine removed Thurday but Im in the US, so I doubt they will keep me awake for something like this. Drug me up with morphine and put me under then they can carve me like a fish all they like.
I'm guessing you don't know the difference between the type of pain associated with a hole that is supposed to be in your body being penetrated and one that was cut into you.
The "fingers moving around" is them using a Hemostat to open up the area, break up any loculations, expand the pocket so they can ensure they get out all of the infected material. It does feel weird.
If you have the stomach for it, there are actual videos of Pilonidal abscess / cyst treatments for you to see what they did.
@gfair2 I can't believe that you were the first comment to this video, and I'm glad I went all the way to the beginning, because I was wondering what he was doing moving something around inside my cyst area, like steamrolling it with his finger or something. It was weird. Thanks.

So, be happy if the doctors do it for you!

I know how you feel, I had to go to the emergency room for my abscess. Let's say my abscess was in a worse place then yours was. When they numb it, its like the worst pain I've ever felt in my life!
After your surgery, did it heal fast or slow? And has it ever shown up again?
TheNoriKori 1 year ago
I had surgery for a pilonidal cyst about 6 months ago, and my experience was very different! I had a scheduled surgery where they put me under, removed the cyst, and then had me come back to the office every couple weeks to check on it, shave the area, occasionally cauterize it to speed the healing, etc.. It was not very painful except for the first few days after the surgery, but they gave me oxycodone for that anyway. Find a good doctor and you will not have that bad of an experience!

I just had the surgery & it really sucked. Especially the packing in the wound! That's probably the worst part!
popcornROCKZ 1 year ago

F that cyst tho forreal, this rly put a damper on my week

i think i have one of these but no one is cutting my ass open NO WAY
dgpcostello 1 year ago
@dgpcostello You've got to have it removed, or it'll eventually get infected and burst on it's own, then you'll have an annoying hole that drains puss all day to deal with. Besides, the longer you wait the bigger and more painful it'll get, and it'll take even longer to heal. It's important to leave it open after you've had it removed so it can heal properly, otherwise it is likely to come back.
dane7902 1 year ago
Great video. I had a lancing and drainage (not excision) but that was SOOOO painful it's not even funny. Whoever said it felt like someone was murdering your ass was right on. I screamed during both the pre-lancing numbing process, and screamed the entire time during my first packing... I don't know if I can do it again. It's like someone's cutting into you with a razor blade with no anesthesia. It's sooo bad.

Thank you. I laughed, I cried.

omg im waiting for my surgery. so it hurts bad then?! dont they put u to sleep or numb the area?? im freakin out now!
magika77 1 year ago
@magika77 Depends on what you're having done. If they don't put you to sleep you will have local anesthetic, but you still might feel it. It totally depends on how much it's currently infected and how well you tolerate pain.
The worst pain for me was when they removed the wound packing the first day after, not the surgery itself, although that did hurt.
misshazy 1 year ago
@magika77 The surgeon said they couldn't use anesthesia because of the infection. It wouldn't work. So he froze it. He dripped some stuff on it to freeze it. It hurt with a little stinging. Then I didn't feel a thing. Of course when he was pushing down on my cyst to get the puss out of it, that hurt the most. I did feel the remnants of that. Don't be afraid. The doctor told me without getting it out, it's poison to your body and you know what poison can do. Be brave.

I had two, one on my buttcrack and the other one in my crotch area. What hurt for me was when they were numbing it, that was the real pain. When they did the incision on my butt I barely felt a thing, but then they got the one on my crotch and that one hurt like hell, but they didn't have to pack that one. Sleeping sucks now.

kurenai106 1 year ago
@kurenai106 Even though it's embarrassing to talk about/deal with, it's better to deal with it now than to wait. I know it's super embarrassing... I didn't want anyone even LOOKING back there, even though they're doctors! :P But if you DO have an abscess and it gets really infected, it might burst on its own, and that would not be fun for you. So, it's best to at least go to your doctor and discuss it with them, and they will assess it.

loangdec 10 months ago
@kurenai106 no it's not hereditary however the shape of skin over the tail bone is and that shape can have a big impact in if you get them or not. go tell your mum, the longer you leave it the worse it will get and it can be very very very very serious! your weight does have an impact and so does the amount you sit down. in WWII they called it jeep seat. so yes please tell your mum and go see a Dr
prebirth91 1 year ago
@kurenai106 I had a pilonidal cyst removed 2 years ago. You def need to go to the dr and get a referral to a surgeon ASAP. After the first time the cyst forms, every time there after, it will tunnel into the surrounding tissue and only get worse. Trust me, i waited until the 4th time it happened and finally went and by the time my surgery came around it had tunneled UNDER my tailbone and 3 inches up my back. You need to get the sac completely removed, not just drained.
sweetredhd4257 1 year ago
@kurenai106 Not sure if you've done anything yet, but I highly recommend having it removed. Yes it does come back if you don't treat it right the first time (I know from experience). The first time I had the cyst removed, they stitched it up after. It healed up quick but came back a year or so later. The second time they left it open and I packed it with gauze regularly, and it hasn't been back since. So learn from my mistake and leave it open to heal.
dane7902 1 year ago
@dane7902 yes an if you get it removed be sure to keep it site clean. Trust me i just had this done 2 weeks ago and mine got infected so now i have to sport a stylish little wound vac for 4 to 8 weeks which is basically they stick a tube in the wound and it sucks up all of the fluid. and by the way, it hurts REALLY bad when they put it in and when they change the sponge in it.

@beautyinsadness Strange, my scar is fine, just itches once and a while. Maybe something went wrong in the healing process? I think you're better off not having the cyst anymore though, it just gets worse and worse over time.

@mekeda05 Aww, that sucks! Taking ibuprofen might help a little, though if you can, try something stronger than that. The first time when they change the packing is the worst, and then after that it surprisingly does get easier and less painful. I hope it'll get better for you soon!

@mekeda05 DO NOT HAVE THE SURGERY! IF I COULD GO BACK, I WOULD HAVE NEVER HAD THE SURGERY. AND I HAD MINE DONE OVER TEN YEARS AGO!

I kept the packing in for a week then my Doc removed it & told me to use maxi pads for the drainage & that was all there was to it
dlmsuperdave 1 year ago
I found out that I have a pilonidal cyst. It's about the size of my thumb. I'm really scared. They gave me hydrocodine but I really don't want to go through that procedure. How long did it take for it to completely heal? I was just hoping they were going to drain it but they told me the procedure exactly how you explained it and I was too scared to get it done because I've had another type of cyst before and I know how badly it felt to get it drained.
avasquack 1 year ago

They told me I'd be out of sports for awhile though.
avasquack 1 year ago
@avasquack Aw, well you made it through the surgery, congrats! That's good the hole isn't too big. Hopefully it'll heal fast then & won't come back! :)

I went through this when i was in high school and it sucked sooooooooooooooooooo bad.... i could hardly walk after they repacked it..... ouch!!!!!
NewfieCrystal 1 year ago
I had mine stiched rather than packed. Was walking like John Wahyn for two weeks put back in the gym on the fith week. Its one of those things that people hope will just go away but anyone who has it really need to get it removed A.S.A.P because of infection.
Kalgoorlie10 1 year ago
@Kalgoorlie10 Very true that it's got to be fixed quick. You're lucky it didn't come back though: mine came back after it was stitched up, so I had to have it removed again but laid open to heal instead. That was four years ago and I haven't had a problem since, thank God!
dane7902 1 year ago
I'm just looking at the date this was posted and assuming it's been about six months since your treatment? I was just wondering if you've had recurrence since then..?
I'm going to have to get this done and I've been reading some personal stories, and there are a lot of people who have had the cyst come back time and time again after treatment like yours, so I'm a bit worried :(
xWeexMoOx 1 year ago
@xWeexMoOx No I haven't had a recurrence since. Sometimes it feels sore if I sit on it directly for a long time, but it hasn't become infected again. Thankfully. Good luck with your operation! I hope it doesn't come back for you.

Buttcop 1 year ago
@Buttcop It smelled bad because it's a cyst. Wash all you want, but if you get one of these anywhere on your body, the stuff that comes out will smell bad.

You have a good sense of humor. I seriously hope you are pursuing a career in writing, especially comedy. You have the ability to make your pain relative to the average person on the street...which is a gift. Take care miss hazy, and keep writing! Trust me, you got it. Later, Stellar.

Britannic1915 2 years ago
Sounds like you have a pilonidal sinus and it's draining itself. When you have a pilonidal sinus (the hole), you usually won't get a painful lump, but you should go get it checked by your doctor just to make sure everything is alright and to go thru your options of managing it.
misshazy 2 years ago

I totally agree with the whole stabbed in the butt ten times, I was under 3 times the local anesthetics and I still felt it all. I loved watching your video, I could relate to a lot of it...except the appendix thing, I haven't had that.

Have you had recurrence at all?

No. Not yet, anyway.
misshazy 2 years ago
Hi Miss,
Did they give you the option of straffing it and draining? Because mine has no openings and the swelling has gone down 90%. I cant bring myself to do the "full op" where they cutt it out and let the wound heal itself inside out. Does the straffing and drainage work? and did they remove the pouch or cutt it out with the tissue around it? Any info sites you can recommend?
god bless you for the post. I've had mine for a while now and I see the infamous Cyote hole and i get goose bumps
kuzak20 2 years ago
@kuzak20 agreed on the cyote hole that kids got some balls man ive had mine drain itself twice now i belive ( bled out) and im going to a doc in 2 days .. i dont want the whole ..draining would be ok. i hear u can get it from truama that could be my prob. also i heard some can get it treated with antibiotics is thattrue?
carpenotctum 1 year ago
@carpenotctum Yeah, its seriously the lamest thing in the world. I have researched it infinitely and came to various conclusions:
a) every doctor will give you a different answer as to why it's there (hair, gene malfunction etc etc) and that nobody can sincerely give you a 100% straight answer, since everything is "Theoratical".
b) Doctors priomal interes is for you to get surgery = money for them. Was told to not even try straffing and simply do the op
c) Antibiotics dont work unfortunately.
kuzak20 1 year ago
@carpenotctum You should check the "Swiss" method. Though my cyst hasn't been swollen since a year and im not touching it untill it swells again, there is a professor in switzerland that has a new method to operating (no massive hole.). They simply make a small incision (Penny size) on two ends, and pull the cyst pouch out by gradually detaching it from the tissue and not butchering it out as is common practice. You can walk and sit the next day again and within 2 weeks its FULLY healed.
kuzak20 1 year ago 3
@carpenotctum Most doctors dont know about this (nobody in hospitals here in germany) but I would recommend researching doctors near you who can do it. The recurrance factor by using this method is 15% which is only 3% higher than the conventional method of removing Skin,Cyst-Tissue leaving a massive 3-5 inch hole on your butt crack. Dont know about you, but for 3% difference I'd chance it.
To my knowledge there is no medicine for it as its technically "your own body" that its fighting.

I'm guessing you don't know the difference between the type of pain associated with a hole that is supposed to be in your body being penetrated and one that was cut into you.

"dude did you see what came out of your pilonidal sinus? it's not pus..it's hair. pilonidal literally means nest of hair."
Pilonidal means "nest of hair" but abscess means "a collection of pus". I had a pilonidal abscess. There was definitely pus.

The "fingers moving around" is them using a Hemostat to open up the area, break up any loculations, expand the pocket so they can ensure they get out all of the infected material. It does feel weird.
If you have the stomach for it, there are actual videos of Pilonidal abscess / cyst treatments for you to see what they did.
gfair2 2 years ago
@gfair2 I can't believe that you were the first comment to this video, and I'm glad I went all the way to the beginning, because I was wondering what he was doing moving something around inside my cyst area, like steamrolling it with his finger or something. It was weird. Thanks.
