I went to Texas Tech and in 1966-67 there was a group that came to Lubbock on a regular basis called the Blue Notes. Was this the same group maybe out of Dallas. Help me I am old and cant remember.
64 year-old Bernie Wilson (2nd guy from left in blue) passed away recently on December 26, 2010 (ironically and coincidentally, the same day as Teena "Lady T" Marie). He is now reunited with Harold Melvin, Larry Brown, Sr. and Teddy Pendergrass in soul heaven. Lloyd Parks (guy between Teddy and Harold) is the last active member now...
In the documentary, I heard Harold Melvin did Teddy bogus. I didn't know Harold was cold hearted the way he was. Good thing Teddy left the group the way he did. I would've done the same thing too If somebody did me wrong like that.
God Bless them all. They all are great and Teddy, What a voice!!!

I do not understand why everyone associate this song with Simply Red. This is the first and the best performance of this song

@sero078 people forget. I had songs in the key of life on and my cousin asked me why Stevie Wonder stole a song from Coolio
I almost drove off the road.

The power to bring tears to my eyes. Heaven has a timeless R&B band. My God how can anyone black, brown, red, white or yellow not like this music.
