Someone did this to me before; is this legal???.......
He hopped about an inch on the floor right.....looked like he slid actually.....and stayed on one foot.......his next little hop with the other foot went left and totally fooled me.......he landed with both feet on the floor and he basically got a set free shot.
Amazingly simple and effective trick.......is it legal?
travel that last time. man u gotta explode, thats hella weak prohop, u should look at mine. or just check out derrick rose pro hop thats who i learn it from
traveling if you don't land both feet at the same time, and big time travel at the end. And you're lucky if no one calls carrying because you clearly cuffed under the ball
All of the bumbasses commenting "travel" in this tape probably suck balls at basketballl. Take a course that will lead you through the rules of basketball and you will -hopefully- learn something new about basketball moves.
its not a travel. he stopped dribbling immediately before he landed and took off of both feet. The ball was out of his hands by the time he landed again.
that is a travel, at least the way he does it. When going to the right he picks the ball up after he steps with his left foot the steps with the right, hops, lands on his right foot (which is already a travel, since you can't land on the same foot during your 2 steps) and then he jumps off his left foot. Meaning he takes 3 steps and technically commits 2 traveling violations.
actually it's just that the kid is learning the tech, he screws it up, if you jump of 1 foot and land on both feet simultaneously it counts as 1 'step' (the rule is actually a 1,2 rythmn not 2 steps) so as long as he times the hop and lands on both feet at the same time this move is completely legal
@Panther016 are you watching the same video i am? right at the beginning you can see hes going left right layup. A hopstep only allows you to come down on both feet AT THE SAME EXACT TIME. Not slightly alternating. NBA makes exceptions. I play in England this season and they dont really call that either but I know from JR high to College , they call this on a regular basis.
as fa as I see he doenst do a normal step before the hop. at least the dribbles while doing it. he just does one hop/step after he collects the ball so it shouldnt matter if he comes down with both feet at nthe same time.
@Pizzle23 ur jealous. lebron has just great talent and is blessed with a strong body. stop hatin on his game. the pro-hop is a strong and cool move. everybodys talking bout if its traveling or not. nobody knows exactly. nba refs dont call it. high school refs obviously dont do. I played under18 in europe and my teammate did it all the way, refs didnt call it. so what? if they dont call it and nobody agrees if its traveling or not..learn it! its a big advantage for the offensive player.
@LaMusiqueetlabeat lolol when did I ever say anything about Lebron?? Who are these losers?? HEY FAG, UNDER 18 IS NOT IMPRESSIVE IN EUROPE. YOU PLAYED UNDER 18 BECAUSE ONCE YOU GOT TO THE HIGHER LEVEL, YOU COULDNT CUT IT. Im playing in England this year and they are not prone to call travels like this one because it is a pro level but LIKE I SAID EARLIER...AT THIS KIDS LEVEL IT IS A TRAVEL.
is a pro hop valid if prior to the pro hop the player takes 2-3 steps as he is gathering control of the dribble? basically a scenario would be when a player is driving down the lane, from top of the key or going coast to coast, and he gathers himself by taking extra steps. Would those extra steps be added in the initial count of the number of steps for the traveling violation.
A hop step is when you pick up your dribble and hop one step while holding the ball with 2 hands, after the hop you can still have the jumping step off one foot.
This a great video because this move has gotten me to about 21 points a game in our high school league.... the video didnt teach me how to do it, but this can definatley show others a way easier way to score by driving to the basket. And ya your right about the crab dribble thing.
Is that what the investigation they had came up with? Im not sure, because on the pro-hop you land on 2, Truehoop was looking at what Lebron did vs Washington when he lands on 2 and than 1-2's to the basket, he was trying to call this his crab dribble.
he needs to use his left hand. he will never get any better if he doesnt

Don't take basketball tips from this middle school girl.
A tip for any boys that are watching: Basketball is a contact sport, don't hop around like a freaking bunny rabbit.
