This is a marvellous masterpiece. I am a man and I have to refrain myself from crying at the last scence when she looking at her "lover" car while the ship slowly moving out of Indochine. Vietnam and Indochine in the movie are splendid with nice and authentic views. The ferry is really authentic and the houses, schools, mansions in the movie are real ones and intact since 1920. This is the first foreign movie shot in Vietnam, even before Vietnam re-establish diplomatic relationship with the US

Wow, this music is so incredible. I just found out the theme of this film was composed by my favourite film composer, Gabriel Yared. The piano notes are so wonderfully oriental and connect to the setting of the film. So hauntingly beautiful at the same time....
