Good job. There is always insights in looking at business. We know this from our process redesign and legacy system replacement work. Best Regards George Cre8inc
I am Geoff Burch and I'm really touched that people have found my video important enough to comment on but there is a misunderstanding. Firstly of course this is a joke but there is a point and it is not a failing of the employee but a failure of the boss (me!) to share the bigger picture with his people. What I was trying to say is that command and control no longer works - every manager or boss needs to sit down with all their people, exchange ideas and clearly explain the goals.
I've seen Geoff many times before and I think he's not claiming to have the answer to all situations (I agree to a certain extent with adamisstrange about shit pay). Geoff's really talking about the people who's attitude has a negative impact on their work. You can make the best of a bad situation etc. doesn't make the situation any better but it's better than continual pessimism.
Goodness me Adam you are strange! To make such a big value judgement from one clip? Have you read any of this guy's books? Most of what he talks about is empowering 'normal' people (ie, non-executives) to take the initiative to start earning for themselves without relying on a boss to provide a wage.
If your job doesn't pay enough there's a simple answer - find a job that does! No business speaker I've ever heard heralds working for a scrooge-like tyrant as a good thing!?!?
A load of patronising nonsense. If you look at these speakers they all have a similar message - it's all about "mental attitude". It's a way to try & get disempowered people to do the bidding of those with power. Look at this story - brickies should think about the "great things" they're building and nothing else. So if you're a low level employee - shut up and think positive. But things are more complex in the real world.egWhat if the job doesn't pay enough to support you? Should u be happy then
very interesting post. Keep it up!
