btw i think the curtains are so the patient can't see the doc giving the other family members bad news and the patient can't see the scared or sad looks on there face when they hear the news. and docs wisper very quietly when behind the curtains and if your in a loud room it's hard for the patient to consentrate on listening to the doc and be unable to hear him as good. btw in TV shows they always have it where they talk right next to the patient to make it more dramatic

Doctors have an impossible dilemmna. They have to do things to and for people that can have horrible consequences. And they have to watch people die. And they have to. essentially, tell little white lies to their patients. In the end, they become a little squirrely. They start to treat patients like "modules" and, in a clinical setting, like non-sentient "modules". Otherwise, they get "survivors guilt" when their patients die. Which many do. Sad, really.

oh, and lets not forget about arrogant pharmacists. As far as I'm concerned, anyone who has that much education under their belt and get paid as much as they do should be thankful for the money they make no matter how stressful the job gets and ofcourse have excellent bedside manners. I've been treated disrespectfully by many of these professionals. Even with my ex-wife, I had to get on the phone and stick up for her after she got off the phone crying with a doctor or nurse being rude to her.

The only thing worse than an arrogant doctor is an arrogant nurse or nurses rather. I was in a restaurant where 4 nurses sat down and proceeded to talk about the inadequacies of their patients, as though they were freaken perfect. How easy it is for them to judge others coming in for medical help and talk down to the patients as though they are superior to them. No wonder ppl clam up going into the doctor with the nurse just waiting to spread your personal issues to her colleagues.
