  • really great clip, I wish it was longer, it reminds me of old jewish music from my home country.

  • Hi, first of all thank for your compliments.

This is a traditional music from a city in the south of Italy, calleds "Montemarano". (Not too far from Naples) It's one of the different type of "tarantella".

Sorry for the question: Why it reminds you of old Jewish Music? Where you came from? Are you jewish?

I wait for you answer ;)

  • I am from northern Transylvania, little border town with Ukraine (Bessarabia) called Szatmar or Satu Mare. I am not jewish myself, all the jews moved to Williamsburg New York after the war and they are the satmar hasidic community. This reminds me of some of the wedding music gypsy musicians play in eastern europe as "jewish wedding dances". The clarinet style is like american Naftule Brandwein or Dave Tarras & contemporary musician Andy Statman.

  • BTW, I heard Italian renaissance couples dances from the middle ages are the ancestors of eastern european folk music like Hungarian Romanian, Jewish etc, maybe I am wrong but I think their main instrument the fiddle comes from Italy too.

  • zi minu.... mi lievi

  • grande pistacchioooooooooo!!!!
