  • This song was part of the soundtrack of my youth. Thank you for posting it.

  • The audio is excellent !!

  • Fantastic song...Don't believe I've heard it since '67. Wish I could find it to add to my Itunes...Not even on file sharing....

  • Thanks for posting, unforgettably lovely tune came out when I was around 13 and had switched to a huge public school after attending a small private religious school for the first 7 years & 3 weeks of my life. Music makes many adjustments smoother!

  • what a beauty

  • Amazing song was 12 yrs old when it came out heard it the other day fantastic song now stuck in the brain

  • This is one of the emotionally wrenching songs I have ever heard.

  • @farmallcf12 I know what you mean about it being emotionally wrenching. So many memories come flooding back when I listen to this.

  • They have a new bluegrass version

  • I love the harpsichord!

  • They did a video of this song for one of the very first episodes of Laugh-In, featuring Dan Rowan & Pam Austin & the band. It wasn't a lip-sync performance. it was more like an early music video. Very interesting stuff if you see it. That's where I first heard this song.

  • Lovely one of the best songs from the 60

    s. ( John McEuen has produced Steve Martin's new banjo CD. )

  • Great song. Thanks!

  • The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band has quite a bit of history, actually. Formed in 1966 in Long Beach, California. Jeff Hanna and drummer Jimmie Fadden were the mainstays though even Jackson Browne was one of the original members of the 6-man band. This particular recording, released in 1967, was their first big hit.

  • I wonder why I never hear this one on the radio. Truly a lost classic I'm glad I found.

  • @bixbyglaser It only peaked at #45 on the Hot 100.

  • fantastic song....really great...thanks for this post!!!

  • Great presentation- audio and video. Can't even find this classic version on itunes.

  • @folkrock4u Yes you can. I got mine from ITunes about 3 months ago.
