  • I love this song !

  • love the group

  • i love his voice and he sing really well live

  • Oh dear Lord!!!!! <3

  • The lead singer looks so much like Gary Busey lmao.

  • @cornhead002 a tiny, sane one.

  • Time index 2:48. Jim Eno sacrificed precision for flash :).

  • @Eblanc haven't* My apologies.

  • @Eblanc where you see tension, I see concentration. If you have stepped out of your bubble of pretension long enough to experience actual musicianship, you wouldn't understand what I'm saying.

  • I finally realized who the lead singer sounds like and its rather uncanny...ELVIS COSTELLO

  • @k00patr00pa1 definitely there. not uncanny. this guy is quite unique. Costello is a legend.

  • I think it sounds better in live then on the album

  • Actually I think it is the phrasing and tonality. I listen to it and I think Phil.

  • Phil Lynott would be proud to know that he had influenced so many young musicians. Love the sound and the horns, and I usually don't care for horns....strange.

  • @frettls except for the predominance of the bass in this song, what do they have in common with Phil Lynott and Thin Lizzy?

  • singer is good and ...good looking ,-)

  • The sound he made was hilarious

  • ga ga ga ga ga > kill the moonlight

  • No one can stop the spoon. no one.

  • 1:33 It was soo painful to see. As a live musician, It shocked me.

  • @Eblanc what was painful?

  • @Eblanc

    You smokin' dope bro?

Seriously, nothing was out of place in that moment in time.

  • @SpartanM621 Not saying it's bad. But you can see the tension. If you haven't played on a big stage, you can't understand what I'm saying here.

  • @Eblanc

Obviously you and SSSteez have some discussing to do; two seconds after YOUR time, SSSteez likes to think Britt actually ENJOYS playing music. How ludicrous is that?

Oh, and kudos for being extremely pretentious.

  • brilliant song.

  • if it only had a cowbell...

  • I always wonder if he's using the same rattle over and over again or if he has, like, a closet full of them.

  • i like the slower version with less drums

  • 1:35 - 2:03 he's having such a dope time singing this song, its awesome!

  • ya really.. why do i always think that britt daniel sounds british?

  • Comment removed

  • @armandahammer perhaps because his name is britt? naww, but yeah, kinda, he also kinda could look british

  • @jfsa380 definetly does, maybe an influence from british bands. I hear some of The Kinks in there, (who I love by the way.)

  • this guys are the boom! 4realz

  • love them

  • 22 people are plain deaf.

  • Holy motherfucker, my ears just lost their virginity.

  • I saw them here, in Austin

  • this is.....british

  • @apolloishigh kinda yeah.

  • @apolloishigh British via Texas! :D

  • 2008messenger i totaly agree and they do it well

  • perfeita essa sincronia deles, som muito bom!

  • OK, I know it's way to expensive to tour w/a horn section. So do they hire local horn sections at each one of their dates? Like high school marching bands or something cool like that?

  • I can't believe these guys played live in L.A. the same date I was at the Hwd Bowl seeing...Phoenix?????

  • Garey Buseys love child.

  • 17 again's soundtrack =D

  • I'm scared that one day I'll have listened to this song too often and it won't be able to take my breath away anymore.

  • He kind of looks like Gary Busey as Buddy Holly

  • :30 - The singer looks like Jack Swagger from WWE.

  • Of course i will assist their performance in El Paso!!!

  • ...<3

  • man i would love to see these guys live!!

  • The lead singer could pass for a young Gary Busey!

  • Saw these fellas in April and they are all over it

  • sorta reminds me of brian seltzer orchestra...

  • And I absolutely love spoon, this is one of many songs that spoon has created, and the out come, simply fantastic.

  • @rhettrongun he called him a douchebag because he didn't keep his mouth shut. If he doesn't like this type of music. He doesn't have to comment. But he did. So he's a douchebag. Asshole.

  • When this song suddenly appeared in the background on HIMYM I literally got goosebumps.. it was just to much awesomeness on one screen!

  • nice :)

  • sounds more like costello style rock to me

  • I always think 'John Lennon!'

  • Saw them in Seattle a few months back. Great show.

  • he sounds like Kelly Jones...

  • @Nevermind900426 shoot your self in the face

  • @Nevermind900426 He sounds nothing like Kelly Jones :S

  • Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga

One of the best albums of that year

  • This guy sounds just like Billy Joel with some Bruce Springsteen. Bring that shit back one spoon at a time

  • Billy Joel

  • that sounds almost similar to the album version. they are really good.

  • simple songs written well, performed well, intelligently played. amazing.

  • kinda sounds similar to Phoenix...

  • @francismanansus i don't see the resemblance buddy. =D

  • EXCELENTE!!!

  • best alternative rock band ever!

  • YEAH!

  • Elvis Costello

  • awesome

  • awesome

  • man that was great, love the drummer at 2:48, well funny!

  • Aww I love Spoon!!!

  • The drummer at 2:48 xD

  • gosh, spoon is amazing! i love this song :)

  • I hate "seventeen again" but Spoon is awesome.

  • oh britt's face after.."and you won't talk to the waterboy"...i want to know the joke too..

  • It's not easy going on Letterman with 15 guys on stage and playing a song like this. Spoon rocks!

  • this song was sick in 17 again!

  • @prowlman Then why you here douche bag? Go blow on the Seattle shit.

  • You are a funny little MF hiding behind a keyboard. Go play with your legos puss.

  • @prowlman I will actually be visiting Seattle in April if you want to meet up. Not just tough behind the keyboard you grunge MF.

  • @bostongary How does not liking a performance make someone a douchebag? Seems a bit childish to name call for different music taste.

  • @rhettrongun I stand corrected.

  • 17 Again ruined so many songs....especially this one. It associated teens and this type of coolness.

    Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • this is the best song on the world!

  • that douchie movie stole a good song, good for spoon make money money

  • One of the best bands ever...

  • I point these guys out to people that say beatles era rock is dead.

  • @2008Messenger But ya know who they sound like on this one? A Rockin' Billy Joel!!

  • @2008Messenger big call

  • There´s so much more beauty in thist than it seems superficially apparent at first glance. This song is summing up something very important. As far as I am concerned, that´s what popular music is all about. The fact that this group and this music has´nt been discovered yet on a broader scale, says a lot about the state of the music industry and so little about the talent we are exposed too here.!!! Beautiful!

  • This sounds like a modern Billy Joel circa 1980...

  • when i first heard this song i thought it was billy joel

  • ever since i saw 17 again, i wanted to know this song.

  • at 1:00 the drummer uses the maraca to hit the hi hat cymbal...hahaha./..

  • jajaj i didnt notice that XDDDDDDDDDDDDDD youre the ones that see with detail all the videos XD

  • yup.....this song is so awesome.....

  • good idea

  • :O this guy sing the same live as in the videos

  • Not even close, but maybe you are being sarcastic!

  • i love spoon :D

  • Absolutely beautiful!

  • it doesnt "sound wierd"

    its just a different mix..

the horns are louder and more full.

I think this sounds amazing and better than the album.

    But thats just me.

  • These guys are from Austin, Texas? I thought I detected an accent from the lead singer.

  • Yeah, I totally thought they were Scottish :D

  • tha thingg dat yu doan undahstand

love the band but his diction live...ugh

  • I did not know type of SUPERSTAR I with Saturday @ class reunion. As my kids say "BRING IT BACK!DEEANN."

  • These guys do rock, but the sound was a bit strange, as it often does on late night TV.

  • the instruments are wayyyyyyyyyyyyy different than the album cover

  • lol way to break a mirraca

  • These guys have been around before the term hipster even existed.

  • the term hipster was used before hippies

  • this is totally awesome!!! :D

  • his voice is ... strange when they're live.

  • Sounds like the clash.

  • WOH!! i love this song!

  • they're really good live, and have a very old-school vibe; reminds me of the music that was in scooby doo. excelente :)

  • lol me too that movie was funny

  • hah, same here. i watched i love you man just like less than 10 min.

  • GO ATX! Great song ;)

  • I love this song. To be honest I thought it was a '70s Billy Joel song. Had to do a search on it after watching "I love you Man".

  • I thought it was Bob Dylan

  • Hehe, the singer Britt Daniel kinda looks like Gary Busey. Great band, Girls can tell is an excellent album. This stuff is great too of course.

  • I agree about the Gary Busey thing!

  • This song is perfect with sexy zac efron in 17 again !!!

  • hahaha, 17 again brought me here 2.

  • hahaha same like me....i hear it for the 1st time in 17 again :X
