Sorry. A correction to the last sentence of my previous comment: "They would NOT have recorded as much music together." One word can make a world of difference.
Yes, The Beatles always sang each other's songs. They either wrote them as a team, or individually, but the most prolific songwriters among The Beatles were Lennon and MCCartney. Harrison was the third most prolific, although he rarely got more than 1 or 2 of his songs onto a Beatles album. Starr only wrote a few of his own songs while he was with The Beatles. If they weren't willing to perform each other's songs, they would have recorded as much music together.
Right. George Martin said that Paul was such a good singer that when he doubled tracked himself, his pitch and timing was so precise, it sometimes sounded like one vocal instead of two.
John had more raw character to his voice, (which is very appealing) but as I've been listening through the Beatles' discography, John (a fair amount of the time) is out of key (ie Sgt Pepper backing vocals) and tends to try too hard (ie Run For Your Life) where it makes his vocals not fit as well in the track.
maybe paul could manipulate his voice better...but that does not mean he had a better voice! Are you guys kidding? John had such a distinctive, raw, voice...no one could compare to John's voice ... not in the Beatles, and not anywhere else. its part of what made him
Not absurd at all: John said himself he would have sung Oh darlin' better than Paul, because it was more "his style"; actually I find Paul's voice simply amazing on this song, I know he trained days and days to sing it as good as he could. But god I would also have loved to hear a version by John!
Actually Paul didn't train at all, it was quite the opposite. Paul wanted a raw, "first thing of the morning" feel to his vocal. He'd come in, first-thing, to record a take and if he didn't like it he'd do again the next day.

lennon had a really good "rockstar" voice, just like kurt cobain did. paul had a better voice "musically"

@FuzztoneProductions I agree... Kurt Cobain had a wonderful voice box. The hotel maid who scraped it off the ceiling saved it in a pickle jar...

The second song sounds like Get Back, probably Paul based his song on this one.

Paul should have sang lead on 'I'm So Tired' on the White Album. He does it better.

Why dont you like John's song of Im So Tired?
naldm05 3 years ago
I should rather say John's version of Im So Tired?
naldm05 3 years ago
It;s not that I don't like it, I just think Paul does a better job singing it. I like John lennon's version of Get Back as well.

Nobody can sing I am so tired like John Lennon.
He was the best vocalman of the Beatles. The magazine Rolling Stone put him on 5 as best singer of the world. Bye!
