Okay, so... What do you people mean by "the original". The broadyway version? Because that was done WAY before the movie. This is an OPERA song, for goodness sakes, there is no real "original" version of it.

Also, while I like the movie version of the song, it's supposed to be operatic, which is what Nightwish does with it.

All the popularity of the band was because Tarja had the voice to make it interesting. And Anette trying to sing old Tarja's songs in the band, well ...she stinks at it, tho she'd do a god cover of Backstreet Boys ot a nice duet with Justin Beaber :)

I love this song, and this verison. Though I do not like the movie. The original Phantom of the Opera is much better as a Broadway Musical.... as it should be. In the movie they added scenes and stories that were never in the original story line. I find that true appreciation for this Musical, not what the movie industry did to it.
