  • very few notes, very much feeling, very nice

  • that guitar is very pretty, but after buying and selling about 140 guitars not all pretty topped guitars sound great, believe me i had some that were real pieces of shite.

  • The PU change was my idea! Thanks

  • Greg thanks for your response and the information about the pickups. In fact a shop had the Orca on sale for over two years and despite its stunning esthetics no one was very convinced by its sound until the pick ups were changed and then all of s sudden it burst into bloom and has the same sound as the one you play in your demo.So again thanks for your great demos which are a real inspiration!

  • Thanks for this great video and your inspired playing! Are those the original mikes...cause I changed those on my Nick Huber Orca to di Marzios and found that the sound improved a lot in depth, sustain and definition. I understand that Nick Huber works with a friend who produces the mikes for his guitars and that they are not perhaps up to the 'luthiermanship' of the guitars.

  • Hallo Gregor,

hast Du die Gitarre noch ? Ich hatte Dir mal den Elmwood verkauft.

    Gruß

    Berndt Glissmann

  • @Glissmann

    gruss

    niels

  • @GregsGuitars

    besten Dank Gregor

  • Hallo Gregor, könntest du den Stefan mal fragen was für eine Kamera er für deine Aufnahmen benutzt?

    Wäre dir sehr dankbar dafür.

    Gruss

    Klaus

  • Love the backing track! You delay pedal is also awesome!

  • And the guitar is good and sound too...! But the main thing!!! - is the Greg's delicious playing! My respects, Man!

  • Do you think the guitar sounds better through headphones or are you using them for a different reason?

  • Hi Greg! Geart playing, a really warm tone on that guitar. Was wondering if you ever had any experience in trying out a amp like the skrydstrup OD50? I think it sounds really great, almost a dumble like tone.

  • very mysterious......

  • Sound a little different from typical les paul..

  • @JunhaoMusic yes because the scale is 25" not 24 3/4". Just like a prs..

  • @surfboy7 So the scale affect the sound actually? (sorry dude, i didn't care about the scale much until now)

  • That flame top is super mega awesomeness!

  • Sounds great

  • Nik Huber ist nicht umsonst einer der am höchsten angesehenen Gitarrenbauer Deutschlands! Tolles Teil, wirklich beeindrucken. Danke Greg, dass du das mit uns teilst!!

    You got the tone!

  • Cool, but that guitar look just like a PRS single cut

  • Greg is the best current guitar player at YouTube ...

  • @GAdoram PHIL X IS

  • I must investigate this guitar immediately. i had another tab opened, and when i heard the tone coming from my speakers, i had to drop what i was doing and check this out. very cool guitar, and very soulful playing

  • I like only les paul

  • Is this Improvisation??

  • is it just me or does this guitar wipe the floor with the gibsons tone wise??

  • @fretboarder TOTALLY WIPES IT

  • @fretboarder It has a much cleaner and balanced frequency than a Les Paul and in this respect is truly exceptional. It is great for jazz, fusion and bossa nova...I just got the same guitar and it is amazing tone wise not to mention the superb luthiermanship, figured maple top, inlays and ergonomics.

  • @turockandar yes they do seem to be very well made. congrats on your guitar!

  • @fretboarder Thanks! I am happy that it is that well made and sounds so good cause frankly some of these luthier made guitars are too expensive :(

  • @turockandar no probs, ive got a gibson 58 vos myself nice guitar but im on the waiting list for a 59 les paul replica with correct woods and construction, long wait but worth it.. enjoy your guiatr mate:)

  • @fretboarder Hey I am curious just how good it will sound. I had a Tom Murphy Les Paul over the weekend but although the esthetics are truly exceptional along with the manufactured cracked varnish he does with a razor blade I was disappointed with its sound compared to my VOS. The latter was selected at the Frankfort guitar fair played against many others to try to find the best of the batch. I would be curious to hear how you find your 59 replica....and you too enjoy the music!

  • @fretboarder It sure does:)

  • Nice guitar mate!!! Wonderful flametop, very PRS style :D Great video as usual!!! :D
