The horse coming down the strech that fell, Looked like the driver was just throwing the lines at him coming down the strech, right before he went down ,it looked like he almost took out another horse a few secs before this happend...
My dad was in a terrible accident where he flew 20 feet in the air and then was run over by 4 horses. He was in rough shape. This accident could have been avoided if the driver would have watched his left line and not hit the other horse. That is where it started. Nut those things happen.
i was there at balmoral when it happen.. ryan is a friend of the family and was pretty ugly. it could of been worse. i spoke with him last week and was ready for the comeback... get ready to play...
fyi for u guys ryan anderson is back racing at Maywood Park today since this accident. Today is Apri 10, 2008. He said he is doing fine and feels great since this accident
I saw this happen live, via simulcast at Freehold in NJ. The whole track just went OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! at the same time....was kinda creepy

Once again no news on the poor horses. I hate watching this, it's so very unnatural to see a horse trotting at such speed. This is cruel,,,,isn't right!
and this is the reason I got out of the business. One broken arm and a cracked rib was enough for me. I still own STBs though, but I wont get behind the lines except to jog them. No more race-driving for me.
I am glad Ryan is going to recover. I am currently training to become a driver. I was talking to Balmoral's starter Bob Knox yesterday, and he said Ryan has started rehab and is doing very well. His recovery time is expected to be reduced until May.
He suffered a broken femur and so he will be out for about 6 months. They say he might return after 1 year because he has to go to rehab. But he was a great diver and made over 2 million dollers at balmoral

When there is an accident on the track do the bets still count? I'm assuming they do.
