  • Chanda, I went to the Coo with Doug and just saw the notice of his passing in the USF Informer. I am so very sorry for your loss. My husband, Dick Marshall passed away from stomach cancer September 29, 1995 after a 3 year battle. I know how difficult the first year anniversaries can be. I just wanted you to know I am praying for you during this time and in the months ahead. Doug's video is a wonderful testimony of God's goodness and faithfulness.

  • I thank God for you every day. I know you are with Him now. I love you Mr. Barnett. Thank you for all that you did.

  • I only knew Doug Barnett for a short time, but in that time he had a very large impact on my life. I knew from the moment that I met him that he was a special person. I am sad that I did not get the opportunity to know him better and to have him as a teacher, however I know that he fulfilled his purpose on this earth because he changed the lives of many people in a positive way. He helped to spread the word of God more than anyone that I know. He was a great man and I miss him so much.

  • Mr. Barnett, You fought a glorious battle, you have shown hundreds of kids how to live, survive and be future leaders. I wish I could tell you then what I say now, I am sorry I took your grade book all those years ago. I was a foolish kid, and you were and still are a great leader. I know you rest with god now, an dyou will be teaching his angels. May you forever be gods teacher.

  • I sit here with tears running down my face as I watch this. I feel so honored and blessed to have known you as my teacher. You were one of my favorites. I watch this and I don't understand why something like this has to happen to someone so special, but you said it perfectly in this video. If God is going to use your cancer to further His kingdom then I guess that's why this is happening. But it still doesn't make it any easier for those who love you. Praying 4 U

If you remember when you see this post, The days I had in ISS with you in 2000 at P.T. I know you remember what happened but we'll save that for just me and you so I dont embarress myself lol.- LANCE AUER

  • You are one that inspired me to be a teacher. You are an amazing teacher, coach, and example of Christ's love. You are in my prayers. Thank you.

    Love,

    Stephanie Harwell Stewart

  • I came across this video indirectly; my wife went to Pioneer Trail, although she was never in your class.

You are an inspiration and The Lord will surely bless your family because, above all, you have put Him first in your life and your situation. I thank God in all things, and this is no exception. As Christian believers our lives belong to Him and not to ourselves. Thank God for circumstances that force us to rely on Him. I pray for the peace that passes all understanding for all of you!

  • Mr. Barnett, words can't even express how great of a teacher you are, I looked forward to your class every single day and even found different ways of taking more classes with you, I loved base you would always let us have fun (after homework of course) you were the highlight of my day everyday, you are a wonderful and amazing person and I wish that the last time I bumped into you at Walmart (about 4 years ago) I would have hugged you longer! god bless Mr. Barnett -Rebecca Paden

  • You are a beautiful soul. You have touched so many lives through your teaching and now your testimony and we appreciate that more than we can ever begin to express. I will remain in prayer for you and your wonderful family. We are placed on this earth for a purpose and you have been a light in such a dim world. If one soul was saved because of your heart... We shall rejoice! In Gods love,
