Eh, a little paint, some new wire and tubing... the rest will polish out. No big deal, it'll be back on the road. At least he didn't send it into a wall by push starting it. I had a fire very similar to this on an old Triumph and fixed it on the side of the road, it didn't look too good, but it got me home.

I've had this happen too - if you see the fire at the carb before it is too big, put the bike in gear and roll it forward with the throttle wide open. The flame gets sucked into the engine and puts it out. You have to think quick though!

Agreed - shocking pit organisation. Luckily been a racer ( as opposed to a roadgoing bike ) he had a quick release tank,otherwise it could have been a lot worse. Frightening.

Was thinking at least they let it burn out, got rid of the petrol tank and didn't cover it in extinguisher foam wich would ruin it, then as the fire was out they covered it in f*****g extuinger foam!!!
