This is an older board, with the classic input/EQ section. The newer 88RS is a little more user-friendly in that the worksurface is at a higher rake and the console is in sections, providing for a wraparound installation.
Even with Rupert long gone, Neve's are still very clean...so clean that some engineers and producers don't like them.
Why did you title this "mixing on Neve 88R" if you didn't actually mix at all? It should have been called "Various camera angles showing the Neve 88R".
Nice mixer but garage band music is still garage band music !! crap in = crap out, the old live studio (mono) recordings of Buddy Holly & Little Richard etc from the 50's with home-made hot-wired tube mixers still blow this clichéd garbage away.
Wanna hear great sound ?? check out the new-wave, pop bands from England like TFF,Thomson Twins etc from the 80's, far as stereo mixes go, by then the equipment could finally reproduce superb magic,stereo mixes & producers who knew how to use it.
Windows runs encore, and numerous other console functions, doesn't work badly at all, on more recent consoles such as the genesys the embedded windows gives a nice about of functionality for remote management or diagnostics, it also helps run the vast amount of digital control needed for recall ect.

@headbagger63 possibly with an update to encore, the newer version the 88RS, and the rest of the console product line has DAW control now.
It has standalone automation available from encore synced by SMPTE/LTC to tape / DAW.
