Territoires de l'oubli was written in 1977 for the French composer-pianist Michaël Lévinas, who gave the first performance in Rome, in 1978. You can also enjoy the reconding of Dominique My and of Ichiro Nodaïra.
En lo que respecta a la música para piano, sólo los estudios de Ligeti se acercan a este monumento; como alguién ya lo decía "una fantasía de resonancias"
You may be right. I misread the liner notes; some of the recordings on this disc are premieres, but apparently not this one. What are some of the other recordings of this piece? I would like to hear them.
Here it is, I've just checked online. Tristan Murail: Allegories; Vues aeriennes; Territoires de l'oubli [IMPORT]The CD is no longer available: Performer: Veronique Marin, Dominique Vidal, Patrice Petitdidier, Patrice Bocquillon, Nicolas Piguet, et al.
Orchestra: Ensemble Fa;Conductor: Dominique My

Was Murail a spectralist composer that studied overtones? I think that's what he tried experimenting with in this piece.

He was working on a "group of strings whose vibration is caused by sympathetic resonance or by direct action of the hammers."
