Qaseeda-goyee was never considered as the best use of art for poets. It is disappointing as Irfan Murtaza is not only an individual but represents Urdu writers' society and the person selected was a dictator who came into power by abrogating the constitution...no different than Ziaul Haq or Ayub Khan. Saying that, each individual has the right to admire someone based on personal experiences, ideology, and political awareness and that should be respected.
