  • Took me some time trying to recall the name of this cartoon. I knew it had something to do with mammoths & a purple sabertooth tiger. Now I have found it, & the good memories shall come back to me.

  • Cro, discovery kids! one of my favourite shows ever while growing up! Phil! and the intro Croo ohhohh Croo ooh! stills plays in my head from time to time! glad to find this!

  • It is sad this show did so poorly because of how educational it was. These are the sort of values we need today.

  • This cartoon taught me that pirhanas are scared of hearing their name. I want my childhood back.

  • I have been searching for forever for this show. All I could remember was that it was a TV show on Noggin when I was a kid that had to do with a red-head and the ice age. Hard to google search "ICe age TV show" without coming up with the Ice Age movies. Finally realized that there was a mammoth in there and somehow found the TV show's name. So glad.

  • @steph6493 Always remembered the mammoth, Ghost writer too.

  • Ah memories. :)

  • Best cartoon EVER

  • Am I the only one who finds Cro attractive ?

  • so happy i finally found this!!! i couldn't remember the title

  • ABC Saturday Morning was great...Bump In the Night, Sonic Sat-Am, Reboot, Cro, and City Kids. Great times being a youngster in the 90s. We had some of the best series ever....

  • nostalgia boner

  • I remember this... don't know why they canceled it. Its was pretty awesome.

  • @duo1992 Yeah the best show about simple machines. :)

  • I remember this on Noggin. Another one of those shows that despite being educational was still quite good.

  • When I used to watch this, I never thought about how absolutely depressing it would be to be Phil. I mean, all of his friends and family and even his SPECIES is dead. Maybe that's why he tells so many stories. It's like therapy. Haha, sorry. I loved this show, but the idea IS sad.

  • I remember this from ABC Saturday Morning cartoons at like 9 in the morning. Boy those were the days...and after saying that I feel old as crap right now and I'm only 24.

  • My childhood fell in a glacier. It was like a big deep freeze. But it was brought back to life Thanks to this site In the 21st century So let's watch as youtube takes us back To wonders of long ago To unweave the tales of REAL cartoons Like the ice age Boy named Crooooooooooooooooo Cro.
  • Those were the days.........

  • spent the last 2 hours trying to think of what this show was XD loved it

  • omg i remember this on Noggin. I miss that Noggin. :(

  • this brings smile to my face

  • NOST HARD!

  • i was 10 yrs old when i saw this show and still remember it....god they don't make shows like this anymore where kids could come home from school and just watch something actually on tv to relax after a long day.

  • it came on abc on saturday mornings.

  • this show sucked

  • @murisfurder why u say this show suck'd? i thought it was good.

  • @johnnyblaze3131 Maybe because it was super boring, uninspired, and poorly animated.

  • @murisfurder Cartoons today aren't all that great either.

  • @fubukifangirl u mad?

  • @murisfurder Why would I be?

  • @fubukifangirl u mad.

  • @murisfurder I don't get mad at trolls. I actually find them quite amusing.

  • @fubukifangirl u mad.

  • @murisfurder meh.

  • OMFG I FREAKING LOVED THIS SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The intro for this show was always sad to me

  • Was originally a Saturday morning cartoon, then a few years back it was on Noggin before Noggin became Teen Nick. Wish Nick Junior would play this, I still love the opening to this day

  • I remember this! '90s childhood memories FTW :D

  • Oh my goodness, nostalgia big time. I remember watching this show as a kid. :) Ah memories.

  • this brings me back to my childhood (precable era) waking up at 6:30am on Saturdays to watch the first cartoon which was captain planet, grabbing a box of cereal and munch on it throughout my morning cartoon watching marathon. aaahh the memories, i use to love this show too.

  • i think tht i watched this but i am not sure.......... i think i did if it was on the channel called noggin....

  • This is gonna sound weird, but I used to feel kinda sad watching this show, wondering what had become of the others after Phil's fall, and realizing that they were all long dead by the time Phil was brought back to life

  • .... Dang this show how old I am XD

  • I don't remember this cartoon. What channel did it air on?

  • @SirFakeName Nick Jr. or something I think.

  • @carlystur

Am quite sure it was on ABC Saturday morning lineups. I used to watch it as a kid and we didn't have Nick Jr.

  • @EnigmaDrath Sorry. I thought I remembered seeing it there at one point. Where it first aired, I didn't know.

  • @carlystur I think i remember seeing it on noggin, with bill nye the science guy and stuff

  • @carlystur It was on Noggin in repeats for quite a while, back when it was still called Noggin and not Nick Jr.

  • @Agent0042 Right. :) Noggin. Thanks.

  • @EnigmaDrath You are correct, it was on ABC during Saturday morning cartoons.

  • It was on Fox in the morning, right after or before Power Rangers.

  • @EnigmaDrath Nick Jr. was around back then, they just didn't show cartoons like this at the time.

  • @EnigmaDrath yes we didn't have nick jr

  • @carlystur

    It aired on Discovery Kids.

  • @SirFakeName ABC

  • @TheInsaneHiker Oh, no wonder. I never really watched ABC that much as a kid.

  • @SirFakeName it was on ABC

  • @SirFakeName ABC but I saw it on Noggin when I was little.

  • @SirFakeName Yeah, it was def. ABC Saturday morning.

  • @SirFakeName Noggin and ABC.

  • @SirFakeName I saw it on Noggin as part of "The Phred on Your Head Show"

  • @SirFakeName came on ABC on saturdays early 90s then Noggin

  • @SirFakeName I'm fairly certain is was once on Fox Kids. I used to get the Fox Kids Club publication thing in the mail and I remember it having Cro comics in it.

  • @PenyaG The Way I Remember This Show Was On Saturday Mornings After Bugs Bunny And Tweety From 1993-1995 Then Another Great Show Called What-a-Mess Premired After Bugs And Tweety In September 1995

  • @SirFakeName No, it was definately on ABC on Saturday mornings.... I remember running downstairs on Saturday mornings just to I wouldnt miss it. I wouldn't even eat breakfast till the show was over..lol

  • my bro and i use to watch this every afternoon when we came home from skooL! :-)

  • I loved this show but looking back it's kinda sad for a kids cartoon, what with everything being past tense.

  • wow I remember this shit! This was my cartoon!

  • why cant we have shows like this for kids again?

  • XD Dude i remember when they made the telescopes from toilet paper rollers and aluminum foil . XD

  • I miss this show <3 :)

  • what makes me angry is to see that this toon is forgotten ... searched the entire Internet and not even think of drawing a story that marked my childhood ... drawing up lists of what channels do not report the cro spent drawing ... I do not think anything on orkut ... on google ... if anyone has any link to help ... thank you ...

  • Nostalgia

  • Anyone else notice Cro is kinda asian looking? I love the show, I"m just saying.

  • Oh Cro, you where my first man crush.

  • Dang! I finally found it. I had the theme song, without lyrics, stuck in my head, was bothering me for years. I couldn't find the right name, I knew it sounded something like "Craw" or "Crow", but never would I've guessed to search it with no "W" in the title :D.

  • This is erriley simular to the plot to the movie Clan Of The Cave Bear(Darayll Hanna)

  • OMG I used to watch this show when I was three!!!! Mabye even younger! It was awseome!! kick ass theme song too!!!!

  • Cro is a fucking pimp. No doubt.

This made me nostalgia all over myself btw.

  • This just took me back about 16 years

  • TVTropes (dot) org has a page on this show. They make a couple of good points.

    1. The opening sequence is a pretty big downer for an otherwise lighthearted cartoon, but

    2. The mammoth (who speaks perfect English, with a late 20th century American accent) takes the news that the world he knows is gone, and everyone he knows is long dead.

But hey -- science is fun!

  • What a random idea for a cartoon.

  • i been lookin 4 dis 4 yrs

  • this cartoon was a favourite ! :) wish i could watch more.

  • Sweet lord...nostalgia!! =D

  • someone make a time machine so i can go back in time and appreciate cartoons more....i miss this show

  • holt shit!havent seen this for like 12years

  • My kids used to absolutely love this show. It came on in a period where there was a big push to make childrens' television more educational. We have several episodes taped. I will have to find them and have the kids, who are teens or 20ies load them for this site. I wish I could find all 21 episodes on tape someplace, however it does not seem that Disney thinks this is something that would sell. There are many episodes that my kids would love to see again.

  • @Dharbidoo7100 OMG if you can find them and get them up I will be so appriciative! I miss this show so much. Nothing good is on these days.

  • Wow!!! I can't believe I am seeing this again. I loved this show!!!!

  • They sure are lucky they found the one mammoth in history that somehow spoke English, though the language wouldn't be invented for millennia, let alone a whole wooly mammoth perfectly preserved in the ice.

  • yeah!!found it... thanks for uploading.. i used to like it a lot...

  • i only watched a handful of episodes of this show. no one ever knows waht i am talking about. i would say ever see the show cro, and they would tihnk i was talking about the movie crow. now 10 years, or more later i can prove them all wrong that this show is real. THANKS YOUTUBE!

  • croooooooooooocroooooooooo

  • haha almost sounds like Jack Black singing this intro

  • You don't suppose that the scientist, Dr. C., was a decendince of Cro by any chance, do you?

  • Y'know I always wondered that. She does have his hair color but I think that it was that way out of coincidence. Always good to have a few theories here and there.

  • @EeveelutionStorm

Dr. C also kinda looks like Cro... I mean in addition to her hair color she also has the exact face shape as Cro.

  • @LilDemona your right she does.

  • @EeveelutionStorm

Dr. C could probably be or is Cro's descendant.

  • @LilDemona Anythings possible.

  • @LilDemona You tagged it!! The show was canceled, but the idea was for Bill's final tale to make Dr. C realize that she was Cro's great great great great great great great great great great great great great grand-daughter!

  • anythings possible but considering that cro was more like modern man than cromagnum we would all be desendance of Cro, well all humans in the present day within that world.

  • zomg! ive been looking for this for forever! all i had to go on was "woolly mammoth" and "saturday morning cartoon" lol thank god for google and youtube

  • ahhhh the memories

  • the opening is so 90's.

  • I always thought Dr C was hottt

  • took me a half hour to find it, but it was worth it! Thank goodness for youtube!!!!

  • Ah, I remember watching this all the time when I was a kid.

  • thanks. memories!

  • Who sung this? Sounds like a young Phil Collins at some points.

  • i bet it was a young Phil Collins and jim cumming

  • @89Animeknight

What makes you think Jim Cumming sang as well? I only hear Phil Collins.

Unless you mean Jim Cumming doing the backup voice lol

  • well Lamporre cause it kinda sounds like him but maybe you're right, maybe he did do the backup voices

  • It was only Jim Cummings, who does sound like Phil Collins when he reaches the high notes.

  • WOW! VaultMasterDBT

  • your not the only one who mistake jim cumming voice for another check out 'NEXT Nostalgia Critic Fuck Ups 2/2' VaultMasterDBT and go directly to 3.15 and you'll see

  • Back then, I thought it was Phil Collins, too! It was unmistakably Jim Cummings, though.

  • This cartoon was probably one of my favorites when I was a young girl. Most of my vivid memory was hanging out on the pull out bed watching Bill Nye and Cro, wishing I was in the show instead of him. And now watching this I wish, I could go back to those days and memories.

  • I love the 90's cartoons!!!

  • MAN this was a great opening!!! Goddamn I've been looking to see it again. Thank you carly

What happened to the show? They run out of ideas?

  • This show, Bill Nye the science guy, and Ghost Writer were the SHIZ way back when! And i aint that ol!!!

  • Totally agree!!!

  • You forgot Kratt's Creatures. That was the iconic show of my mid childhood.

  • Me encantaba esta caricatura la miraba en Discovery Kids hace muchos años.

  • does anyone else think 0:20 is super depressing?

  • so he lives in nashville takes us back to wonders long ago?

  • wooow was a long time ago when i watched it - thanks heaps , brought memories it did

  • I used to absolutely love this show. I've been trying to track it down for a while now, but it doesn't seem to exist anywhere. I can't believe it didn't go over well with kids, it was one of my favourites as a child.

  • There were 19 episodes of this show and I was fortunate enough to track down 6 of them (from the 3 original VHS tapes that were ever released) and make a DVD out of it. I wonder why some shows get released and this one has no official DVD set? It's a shame that the few of us who remember this show, have to deal with just that...memories. It's time Cro gets released on DVD!

  • this brings back gr8 memories

  • Used to love this show as a kid, but at the same time I'd feel really sad since everyone in Phil's stories were looooooong dead; I used to wonder what happened to them all after Phil fell into that glacier. Cro and Nandy were my faves, especially Nandy with her bizarre myths and legends XD

  • I used to watch the shit out of this show.

  • Ah, I remember watching this show all the time as a kid. It really takes me back to the day when Saturday morning was pretty much the best time of the week for me.

And, am I the only one who thinks this show is like the cartoon version of the book, Clan of the Cave Bear?

  • Totally agree with the whole Clan of the Cave Bear thing. I showed the intro to my sister before I has started reading the book, and she thought it was the funniest thing because it was -just- like CotCB, only tweaked a bit.

  • WOW! I used to see this wonderful toon!

  • OMG i've been looking for this!!!! loved this when i was a kid!

  • this made me interested in "how it works" stuff..

  • I don't remember much about this show, but I know I used to watch it in Swedish as a pre-teen back in the mid-90s. I did remember the name "Cro" though (I later realised, that it was short for cro-magnon), and the sad line from the theme song, that Cro now only existed in the mammoth's memory. And it probably was as scientific as you say it was, because when watching this show with me, my mother once said, that she didn't think, that kids were into science, but I told her, that at least I was.

  • Totally loved this show when I was a kid. It was great.

  • I LOVED this show as a kid! I was looking back on all these old 90's and 80's shows I used to watch and I remembered this one! I couldn't think of the name! Only that it was about a wooly mammoth defrosted in modern times and telling about his adventures during the Ice Age (or whatever) and that the stories revolved around a red headed cave boy..... Thank God for an older sister who is old enough to recall its name. <3

  • Oh wow!! I used to love this show so much!! THat was back when ABC's One Saturday Morning was worth waking up early for. lol.

  • LMAO i totally remember this show when i was a kid

i could not think of the name but i was close to it

i kept sitting around thinking is it croom kroom but it was only cro

  • I loved the Dire wolves!

  • I do not have any episodes of Cro. All I have is this one opening sequence. I'm glad to see that others have uploaded whole episodes though! ^___^

  • can somebody upload it somewhere in the internet?????

  • finally i couldn't remember the name for the life of me

  • it is called cro

  • OMG! I could NEVER remember the name of this show! I so remember it!

    Damn....Its been so long...

  • I used to LOVE this show!!!

  • That makes 2 of us. ^^

  • caracas, mto fudnedo esse desneho!

    pirava!

    ehuehuehuehu

  • This show has a really catchy theme song. And if you listen closely, you'll hear some nice guitar riffs here and there. It's really nice.

  • DAMN!!!!

    I remember this.

    How time passes.

    Hawksmoor...From The Bleed.

  • you know that happy and sad feeling you have when you recall or relive something from the past? Yes, it's called nostalgia and i'm feeling that right now!

Fond childhood memories of sitting in front of the big ol' telly and humming along to this tune after school!

  • It really makes you feel old doesn't it...

    I hate that.

  • I used to watch this every morning before school. Along with Zaboombafoo and Mummies Alive!!!

  • OMG ZABOOMAFOO!! I loved that show! it always came on right after Digimon Adventure (Fox 27) so i'd switch from that to KERA just to watch it. And sometimes DragonTales

  • classic indeed

man, i really miss these 'ancient' cartoons \o/

  • OMG. I have been trying to remember the name of this show for ages. I used to love it so much. YAY

  • This was a great show!!! They don't make em like this anymore

  • I remember this so much they used to play it on the old abc kids

  • OMG! I love this cartoon and song!

  • Ahhh, the memories.

  • how could i forget this show!?

ugh youtube is bringing bac so many memories lmao

  • Best cartoon!! I miss this show

  • classic

  • I LOVED THIS SHOW AS A KID! So glad I found this...none of my friends knew what I was talking about :3

  • Oh... my God. *regresses through childhood*

This show was AWESOME when I was growing up. Man... back when I gave a damn about Saturday Morning...
