I have a VHS of that exact Frosty and Rudolph from that year, which have all these commercials on it. I watch it every year at Christmastime, even though I'm 20. Tradition. :)
I'll probably not be the first one to say this, but the 80's and the 90's were the best years of my life. Great commercials, kick-ass video games, awesome cartoon shows, even the clothes then were cool. Nowadays people focus too much on being more grown up. I hate that. Things need to liven up soon, or the idea of being young at heart will die out with the times. Let's face it: we need to bring back everything we loved and nail it down permanently. I'll never grow up, because I still have fun.
@shadowstrike2123 Yeah, there are 5 years olds with better cell phones than me and I am 20. Truthfully I dont care all that much about cell phones other than they are conveinient, mine is a very basic one though lol
I have this exact same recorded. the only thing that would make this ABSOLUTELY perfect is if you played the "Nestle " commercial where the dog puppets sing. :D
See, thats the thing thats missing from tv, cartoons or video games nowadays: excitement. Things used to be exciting and pure. You can't have a simple and sweet soda commercial today because every ad has to imply sexual innuendos or something deviant. >.>
@GeorgeCarlin100 I know what you mean. I was a 90s kid, so I guess back then I didn't know everything would go downhill from the 90s. I wish I could go back to take it all in. But then again, maybe it's just because it's my childhood.
After 2003, all the "good" holiday specials and x-mas commercials took a huge decline. Now that everything's computer generized, it kinda takes the "classic 80s/90s feel" out of it
I have the same exact commercials on vhs tape too! . lol. I miss the 90's so much:( That cool whip commercial gives me the munchies:) I still hate the taste of 7-up today!!!! Reminds me of that game ' Head's up 7 up' It does make me thirsty watching the 7-up commercials. lol. I remember watching 'rudolph ,and frosty the snow man':)
I can't believe this is now 'back in the day" stuff. I'm not that old yet....I sure miss it all though. So much more creative, so much less mindless. Did we know what we had?!
While watching this with my hubby, I just now commented on how innocent these were. I can't believe how much stuff has changed. Now days you can't go a commercial break with out one ed commercial or birth control commercial of some sort. It's really sad to see the huge change. I'm in my mid 20s, but I do understand why people have nostalgia for the good ol' days.
And you can't go 15 minutes in a show that has been made recently without a mean spirited joke (and I hate to even use the word joke) about cancer or someone with disability or other topics that aren't funny.
@katedakokiri you don't sound old. Television has become the wasteland of the human mind. Look at the ads, cartoons, and shows from this era, and compare them to now. There was SO MUCH creativity and original ideas. The crap they air now is just 'assembly line footage' if you ask me.
@Tubularvalleydude I agree I mean I know every generation likes to say "oh my day was better," but in this case I really do think entertainment is going down the drain. Maybe it's economics, but there just seems to be much less effort put in nowadays.
@Heralde8 Entertainment IS going down the drain these days, and they do put much less effort into it. That's because everything is more dumbed down. Now people praise Family Guy for being an "intelligent, funny show" and admire musicians who don't even write, let alone sing their own songs!
@MandyVin17 I think Family Guy was genuinely funny in the beginning, but now just resorts to random, rather cruel jokes because it's easy and gets a cheap laugh.
@katedakokiri i kno! the commercials just had that feel of christmas. the commercials around the holidays now a days are so bad and dont get anyone in the spirit at all!
wow, i remember all of these. they really bring back good memories. i wish i could go back to christmas in the 90's. it was so much more meaningful than it is now.. thank you for the upload!
*Sigh* This is the year I got my SNES. God, the memories. That whole Christmas season was like a fairy tale. I still remember watching TV with my (then) toddler little sister, and we used to sing these little jingles together.
...god, I can still remember it like it was yesterday. I miss those days dearly.
And yeah, I think that these sorts of commercials have sort of vanished. I don't know why everything has to be so cutting edge and "extreme" these days.

I'm curious? why did everything suck after 2001? Why did everything start sucking after 2001 was it because of 911?
